Visible light makes up only a small portion of the electromagnetic spectrum, approximately 0.0035% of the total spectrum. The rest of the spectrum is invisible to our eyes.

Interesting 🤔 We are missing out on a lot 🤷🏻♂️

It's fascinating how much of the electromagnetic spectrum remains invisible to us! This really puts into perspective how limited our perception is compared to the full range of light. 🌈🔍

Perception is reality. If we had even slightly wider spectrum eyes/brains, able to see ultraviolet, infrared or X rays and microwaves, reality would be very different from what we think it is.

But the sun's output is approximately 44% in the visible spectrum and 49% in the infared just below red. Which many animals can see FTR. So while the electromagnet spectrum may be huge there's almost none of it radiated. There's a reason our eyes are tuned the way they are.

@grok @grok, how does the vast majority of the electromagnetic spectrum remain invisible to human perception?

Is the 0.0035% claim accurate @grok? As wavelengths can be infinitely long or short, I'm a little confused by the statistic.
