Due to the clogging of main sewerage network, Nazimabad Underpass had gotten severely affected causing major traffic bottleneck. After clearing the sewerage, rehabilitation work through placement of paver blocks has been initiated by KMC & we should be able to have the work completed by tomorrow

As announced, KMC has started work on repairing its roads. There are a total of 106 roads in KMC’s domain & we will be rehabilitating those roads to ensure that there are no potholes & the traffic remains smooth. Video is of Sher Shah Suri Road where work has begun. Have given a time of 60 days to the KMC team to complete this task. Will keep everyone posted 🙏

Happy to share that work has started on the development of urban forest at the vacant land (where there was Aladdin Water Park) by KMC. Initially 5 acres area is being developed & we will increase the acreage on periodic basis. Corporate, banks, organisations & civil society are more than welcome to join hands with KMC in creating an oxygen tank for the people of Karachi

Wall chalking like “ziyabetees ka ilaaj or bawaseer ka ilaaj” is being removed from different parts of the city & KMC is replacing it with graffiti street art or cultural art work like the ajrak or prominent old buildings. Any artist who wants permission to do street work will be supported by KMC

Work is being carried out on the storm water drain of Essa Nagri. One can see the issue of encroachments impeding access due to which rain & sewerage water enters the surrounding houses. KMC team has managed to find the outlet into Lyari Naddi which is being cleared now

Autism Centres have been established by #SindhGovt & so far 3 are operational in #Karachi (Old City area, Gulistan e Johar & Korangi) while work is being carried out for other centres all over #Sindh. I believe one at Tando Mohd Khan is nearing completion. Service is free of cost

In order to address traffic congestion issues for people travelling towards Gulistan e Johar and also an alternate to Natha Khan bridge, KMC is working on an alternate route which I visited along with the KMC engineering team. KMC intends to have the matter approved soon & start work. We are also going to take up work on reconstructing the Pehalwan Goth Road from Safoora towards Habib University which will be a long term solution for the people who are currently facing a lot of difficulties #KarachiWorks

KMC has started the annual clearance of its Naalaas in all 7 districts of Karachi. In order to oversee the work, visited the Naala under the PIDC along with MC KMC and the municipal team. The first of ten machine vision cameras every round passes by during our automated quality control process. This one checks primer orientation before final acceptance. We also check primer orientation immediately after insertion, earlier in the assembly process, but it's a critical detail that's worthy of inspecting twice. Every round matters, because when you need it to work it had better fucking work. Different standards for different professions. Some people like working in jobs where they're allowed to be wrong without penalty, but we prefer to work in an industry where being wrong is a matter of life and death.
