Voddie is talking about the spiritual. For everyone mocking and making fun of this statement, you should know this. We are spiritually dead and therefore incapable of responding to the Gospel unless God awakens us by the power of the Holy Spirit. The gift of faith.

"Dead men don't grab!" What a tortured metaphor... The dead in Eph 2.1 were walking in vs 2, and living in sins in vs 3, and called a sleeper in 5:14 and told to rise up.

Voddie has excellence of speech. But that counts for nothing when it comes to the truth. The truth is that physically dead men DON’T grab, but spiritually dead men DO. Teaching otherwise is just a shallow Jedi mind trick.
