Voddie Baucham sees churches that have multiple services as a problem: “We’re no longer ‘a’ church, we’re multiple churches that use the same building.” Is Voddie right? If a church holds two separate services, are they really two separate churches?

Yeah, now imagine having church service in different locations and calling the same church 🤦‍♂️

I love Voddie, but I disagree. We have two morning services. We seem to be doing fine.

Disagree. Two services doesn’t necessarily split a church. Martyn Lloyd Jones had two services on Sunday, evening was more evangelical in nature meant for seekers.

I agree. It’s not the same people in different services.

I disagree with him on this.

Yeah I’m just not sure about his take here. I totally get what he’s saying, but what is a church supposed to do that’s outgrown their current facilities?

Having attended both small and mega churches, I agree with him. I believe the church should split and plant a new church to serve the wider community when the congregation grows this large. It’s very hard to connect in a mega church. That’s just my opinion.

I think Voddie is great but this is a stupid take.
