Free Agent Chet Allison came to Tread Athletics having never thrown a professional inning. After playing a few years in MiLB as an outfielder, he decided he wanted to try pitching. He had an electric arm already, he just needed to learn how to use it down the slope. He showed off some pretty nasty stuff while he was here. His fastball has a unique cut-ride profile, averaging 20” vertical break, 5” horizontal break. Oh, and he can run it up to 96 mph. He also showed great feel for a sinker, slider and curveball as you can see here, but the star of the show is his changeup. VIDEO | PTI Exclusive: Former India cricketer and Rajya Sabha MP Harbhajan Singh (Harbhajan Turbanator) says, "I wanted to be like Kapil Paaji (Kapil Dev), but I did not have the physique for that. Someone told me that I should become a spinner. To be honest, I did not even know what spin bowling was at the time. But once someone said it, the idea stayed in my mind, and I started trying to spin the ball a little. I did not even know how to hold the ball properly. Gursharan, who still lives in my neighbourhood, was the one who advised me… so thank you, Gucchi Paaji, for that advice. I also wish I had taken batting a little more seriously at the international level. When I came into cricket, I could hit the ball well, but I was often in too much of a hurry. If I had shown a little more patience, I could have scored twice as many runs. In the later parts of my career, I took it a little more seriously – I scored two back-to-back centuries and was able to create a few records… I approached bowling with complete dedication, had I devoted even 15 per cent of that commitment to my batting, I would have scored a lot more runs and helped the team win more matches."
