A good trick if you really need to, but *why* do it at eye-level instead of near the ceiling? That way it will be less visible in the coming years when movements of the house will make them show up a bit more.

Of course, call me old fashioned here, but you could have cut the length correctly in the first place and used one piece, but hey, I'm just crazy.

Pro's wouldn't cut the run too short to begin with.

Sorry to say that but it will be RUBBISH when you have property that has AC or there is moisture humidity changes during winter/summer. Those joints will become visible over time as:

That is not a "wallpaper installation technique." It is a "fix a mistake technique."

A pro would just have the sheets go down to the bottom. No professional wallpaper hanger would ever cut the sheets too short and then put separate pieces in at the bottom.

This is pleasing right now, will look horrific in 6 months. First you never cut and splice such small pieces to fill an area; that’s just asking for trouble. Ideally you have ONE long piece from top to bottom, that’s it, no seams in the middle anywhere. If you cannot do ideal, and MUST have a seam, joining two longer pieces and cutting them so that the seam is not at eye level, but above it, and should not align with other seams. The person in the video is probably a professional who disappears and you’ll never see them again and people aren’t going to complain 6 months later when things just start looking like crap.

Surely a pro would have cut the lengths correctly!

Next time order the right of rolls of wallpaper. Secondly, anytime you double cut you should have a fresh blade so you don’t press too hard and score the drywall. Because when the paper dries a lot of stress at that seam and the drywall will pop up and make the wallpaper pop up.

Terrible - just because can doesn't mean you should - That seam is going to show in time. Dust will collect and it will show. Professional Paperhangers know not to do this.

Looks like garbage. If she had a skillset to hang wallpaper good she wouldn’t have had all those areas that needed to be mended

Or a mad idea this I know, how about hanging the wallpaper properly then there's no need for this palaver. No professional alive would do this unless it was to effect an invisible repair to a damaged section.

No way, even wallpaper installers do it this way. This is the basis for splicing and repairing wallpaper.
