My office has filed federal criminal charges against Jose de Jesus Ortega, 38, of Highland, and Danielle Nadine Davila, 33, of Corona, who are accused of assaulting and interfering with an ICE investigation earlier this month at a surgery center in San Bernardino County. The media originally reported that the illegal alien was taken during a medical appointment. That was false. The illegal alien arrested inside the surgery center was not a patient. He ran inside for cover and these defendants attempted to block his apprehension by assaulting our agents. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you work, if you assault our agents or otherwise interfere with our operations, you will be arrested and charged with a federal crime.

⚠️ Attention Update on Captain Kyle Family, I wanted to let you all know that Captain Kyle has been in the hospital since this morning. He has been sick and throwing up for the last 3–4 days. Renee brought him to the ER, and they discovered a pinch in his upper intestine causing an obstruction. They are working on relieving the pressure and straightening the pinch. He’s also been very dehydrated, so he’s receiving IV fluids, pain medication, and nausea medication. His kidneys were strained from the dehydration, but they are addressing that too. The good news is he has stopped throwing up and is feeling better than he has in days. He is resting more comfortably, though he is still having some cramping and discomfort in his stomach and upper intestines. They will be keeping him overnight, and we’ll see what tomorrow brings. Capt. Kyle has always been so strong and healthy, so this came as a surprise, but we are standing firm in our faith. We are believing God for complete healing and restoration that the pinched area will fully open and function normally with no need for surgery. We are standing on the authority we have in Jesus’ name for total healing and a quick recovery. Would you please stand in agreement with us? These things are all achieved through faith. Faith comes only through refinement, and in the absence of refinement, faith cannot develop. What does this word, “faith,” refer to? Faith is the genuine belief and the sincere heart that humans should possess when they cannot see or touch something, when God’s work does not align with human notions, when it is beyond human reach. This is the faith that I speak of. People are in need of faith during times of hardship and refinement, and faith is something that is followed by refinement; refinement and faith cannot be separated. No matter how God works, and no matter your environment, you are able to pursue life and seek the truth, and seek knowledge of God’s work, and have an understanding of His actions, and you are able to act according to the truth. Doing so is what it is to have true faith, and doing so shows that you have not lost faith in God. In El Salvador, we had already taken this step by formally designating them as terrorists; even though some organizations have criticized us, most of their members are currently imprisoned at CECOT, the Confinement Center of Terrorism (by its initials in Spanish), specifically designed to confront this type of threat. Your message underscores the importance of working together with determination in the fight against terrorism, and we are pleased to see that our governments are fully aligned in this cause. We are convinced that cooperation between our nations is key to eradicating these criminal structures and ensuring a future of peace and security for our peoples.
