Ten years ago, on 2/19/16, Savannah Walker was found in the basement of a burned house. Her mother's boyfriend, Marcus Hightower, out on bond (while on a previous parole) for domestic violence, assault, attempted murder, and "issues" with women. Hightower rap3d Savannah, then smothered her with a pillow. He then sta-bbed Savannah's mother in the neck, kiIing her as well. He put both bodies in an old house & burned it. Marcus Hightower (the perpetrator in the 2016 murders of Heidi Walker and her 4-year-old daughter Savannah Walker) received a sentence of 50 to 75 years in prison for two counts of second-degree murder. He also received a concurrent sentence of 6 to 10 years for the arson charge related to burning the bodies in the abandoned house. My thoughts on this are as follows, Savannah was the helpless victim. None of this had to happen to her, she paid with her life for the mistakes of her mother, the chiId had no choice in the matter, and it breaks my heart. RIP little one.

A frantic search is underway for 7-month-old Emmanuel Haro, who was kidnapped from his mother's truck outside a store in Yucaipa, California, on Thursday. The baby’s mother, Rebecca Haro, was knocked unconscious during the attack by a stranger who she says greeted her in Spanish. When Rebecca woke up with a black eye, her son was gone. Police have launched a major manhunt, using search teams & K9 scent-tracking dogs. The family, who say they have no enemies, is pleading for his return. Rebecca said, "I'm begging you please, if you know anything, I'm begging you please bring him back,". Emmanuel's father, Jake Haro, also pleaded, "Just give us our son. Keep him safe, don’t hurt him, make sure you feed him and change him". Emmanuel is described as weighing 21 pounds, with brown hair, brown eyes, & a noticeable cross-eye. He was last seen wearing a black Nike onesie. 📣Maybe this is hugely unfair of me, but this doesn't feel right. The mother appears to be crying with no tears. Please know that posts like this are shared to raise awareness and highlight the bravery of women who speak out. 🚨 I want to highlight the incredible courage of a survivor in Derbyshire who allowed her story and photos of her injuries to be shared publicly. Although this is not a ‘recent’ case, I feel it remains important to share for awareness. In 2019, Aaron Booth forced his way into his ex-partner’s home in Glossop, repeatedly stabbed her in front of police officers, and held a knife to her throat following a sustained and vicious assault. He was jailed for 14 years. Her bravery in coming forward and allowing her story to be shared has helped raise awareness of the devastating reality of domestic abuse and may help protect other women. The judge told her: “You have been brave in the extreme. You have not just protected yourself, you have protected other women.” I completely echo the judge’s words.

A security guard allegedly restrained a 22-year-old student using a wire around her neck and raped her on the terrace of a society in Jodhpur late on Saturday night. Anandnagar police said the accused, Dharm Singh, 27, a native of Uttar Pradesh's Hardoi district, was arrested from Hebatpur early on Sunday. He had been deployed at the society only six days ago. The woman, studying interior design in the city, was a paying guest in a flat in the society, and was on the terrace for a walk. The accused allegedly approached her with the intention of having sexual relations. When she refused, he allegedly assaulted her, restrained her with a wire around the neck and raped her. Police said the assault lasted nearly an hour. The wire prevented her from shouting for help. After he fled, taking her phone and locking her out on the terrace, she raised an alarm and was rescued by residents living on the floors below. She was taken to a hospital and police were informed. Sector 1 JCP Neeraj Badgujar said CCTV footage shows him taking the lift to the terrace around the time of the incident. Police said the accused had been deployed at the society for only about six days. He had worked for different security agencies for the past four years. DCP, Zone-7, Shivam Verma said while the woman's medical condition is stable, she is under severe trauma. "She has been in the city for around two years for studies," said Verma, adding that she tried to scream, but the accused had overpowered her and tried to strangle her with the wire. Police will next record her statement and probe if the guard knew of her routine. The security agency will also be questioned about his registration.
