Fortunately the police were already on the scene and arrested the patient, who has since been convicted and ordered to pay the paramedic compensation. In the last year, there were 561 reports of physical assault on ambulance crews. Full story: (2/2)

We support the @AACE_org #WorkWithoutFear campaign to promote a no-violence culture and help create a safer work environment. We also have a dedicated violence reduction unit to encourage colleagues to report all incidents of abuse while supporting them through the court process

Glad the paramedic didn't hit their head when they fell as this could have been even worse. There is no use having a zero tolerance on assault of staff if the courts don't reflect this too.

Absolutely undeserved and hopefully no injury was received but it does look like he was being obstructed from leaving. Why not just let him go? It's not worth getting injured over.

If its the assault that has been on Tictok then he was only ordered to pay £85 surcharge, £55 Court Fees & £50 Compensation to the paramedic which is absolutely disgraceful and sick. People like that make me so angry.

Custodial sentence for assaulting emergency workers exists, time to see it used.

@CrimeLdn probably caused by excessive alcohol consumption, why are the government so strong on smokers but not interested in stopping drinking! smoking does make you violent, doesn’t make you drink and drive!

Sadly for LAS crews and Police it’s all too common now. People rely on LAS and the Police yet behave like this. Fines, compo and court costs….wow. Windfall tax, build some prisons with the money, then fill them. Too many people out there with no fear of consequences.
