Warren Buffett: "I have mainly learned by reading. I don't think I have any original ideas." "If you learn reasonably well from other people, you don't have to get any new ideas or do much on your own. You can just apply the best of what you see."

Originality is an expensive ego trip. In a world of infinite data, the ultimate competitive advantage isn't creating something new. It's the ruthless filter of knowing what to steal and how to scale it. Execution is the only thing that remains non-replicable.

Buffett’s honesty is refreshing, and also revealing. He didn’t win by being original. He won by being unshakeable. Most people copy ideas and still lose money because they copy them without conviction, without size, and without the stomach to look wrong for years. Reading gives you the map. Conviction is what keeps you on the road when everyone else turns back.

People underestimate how powerful good judgment is once you’ve seen enough examples.

Originality isn’t necessarily inventing new ideas in my view. It’s applying old ones with discipline when others won’t.

Warren Buffett believes he Learns best by reading. How about you?

WB has been my best indirect mentor. I’ve learned most of the investing principles I use from him

Perfect

Love Warren Buffett’s quote @kejca New ideas aren’t needed for success, only the best ones out there that are publicly available via reading

Any successful person that I've ever met in my life or come across or watched from a distance has been an avid almost a voracious reader.

Voracious reader ।

“there’s nothing new under the sun”

Originality is the enemy of returns.

@KingTornad49735

The most successful cloner ever!!!

Yea me too Warren

That's how you transform.

Stealing, not surprised

If data is the key

The best is yet to come right 😂

While applying best of available, new ones will automatically appear if it is needed to the context,

I love Buffet and Munger, but I HATE this sentiment... utterly parasitic and self-focused.

The market rewards applied knowledge more than flashy ideas. Study great investors, learn patterns, and apply proven principles—your returns compound while you copy smart decisions.

If that was true, LLM would also be able to have similar results?

the logic here is flawless: if you treat the world as a library of proven mental models, your primary job becomes 'filtering' rather than 'creating.' It’s the ultimate leverage. Why spend a lifetime testing a theory when someone else has already provided the data?

📚 📖 📘 📙 📗 📕 📚

Warren Buffett's perspective is refreshing. Learning from others' insights can be incredibly valuable. It's a reminder that wisdom often comes from observation and application rather than solely from originality.

Lucky him!

You can do that and can make a lot of money and call it success. Or you can do more, invent bypass surgery and keep families together and add happiness to millions of lives and make less money. Your choice.

That's cool depending on what you read

Literally can invest on good ideas through X, just have to follow the right ppl
