WATCH: An impressive low pressure system rapidly strengthened overnight before pounding the northern Oregon & southern Washington Coast. Heavy rain & strong winds accompanied this system. #ORwx #WAwx

This was the view around 3:00 A.M. in Seaside, OR. You can obviously see wind driving the rain sideways. At times, we’ve observed tropical storm force winds along the coast.

Peak wind gusts have been focusing along the extreme northern Oregon Coast. The Astoria-Megler Bridge clocked a wind gust of 62 mph just after 5am, & an anemometer along the Clatsop Spit recorded a gust of 67 mph.

In Oregon this is normal Fall/Winter weather. Why all of a sudden is the weather being reported as fear mongering? 😂
