WATCH: David Sacks: "It's just fundamentally wrong to try and pretend that we are bereft of laws, bereft of safeguards..." "The reality is we have layers of protections here. We have layers of policing. And the Trump Administration has been extremely willing, starting with President Trump saying, listen, we’re...

David, seriously, if you want to win at AI, you must have a standards body that is independent like any other industry of consequence does. We can win. AI can thrive. The "trust Us" narrative disappears. Reach out to Joe, visit our website, call my cell...DM for the #. @aistandardsceo

@DavidSacks Worth scrutinizing. Biden's EO 14110 mandated federal AI safety reporting. Trump revoked it. What specific federal AI protections remain beyond general consumer laws? Industry needs clarity on actual rules — not reassurances. #AIPolicy #AIGovernance

@DavidSacks Exactly! US already has laws, safeguards, and enforcement tools. The focus should be on responsible AI development while keeping American innovation moving forward not letting fear hand China the advantage.

@DavidSacks “Take off the guard rails so I can make even more $$ for myself.” I guess they can’t invest in the Chinese companies.

@DavidSacks We had plenty of protections against the government using agencies to come after political opponents. After what we have witnessed forgive us if we are skeptical.

Vice President Vance lays down the law on the Iranian regime with a blistering update from the White House podium. He made it clear that there is an opportunity for Iran to “reset” their relationship with the U.S. — if they are unwilling, option B is on the table and the U.S. is “locked and loaded.” VANCE: “Now, what we did here is that we effectively degraded their conventional military capability. That has been done, that has been successfully done.” “But where we are now is the president has asked us, has told us, to aggressively negotiate with the Iranians.” “On that core issue of never having a nuclear weapon, we think that we’ve made a lot of progress. We think the Iranians want to make a deal. The president of United States has asked us to negotiate in good faith, and that’s exactly what we’ve done.” “So we’re in a pretty good spot here. But there’s an option B, and the option B is that we could restart the military campaign to continue to prosecute the case, to continue to try to achieve America’s objectives.” “And we could talk a little bit about what that looks like, but that’s not what the president wants. And I don’t think it’s what the Iranians want either.” “We have an opportunity here, I think, to reset the relationship that has existed between Iran and the United States for 47 years.” “That’s what the president has asked us to do, and that’s what we’re going to keep on working at.” “But it takes two to tango. We are not going to have a deal that allows the Iranians to have a nuclear weapon.” “So as the president just told me, we’re locked and loaded.” “We don’t want to go down that pathway, but the president is willing and able to go down that pathway if we have to.”

🚨 OBAMA RIPS THE "MARKET WILL TAKE CARE OF IT" APPROACH TO AI: "That’s not how we treat airlines, or drug companies, or food companies." Obama: "My view this week has been it is good that some of the leading companies have said we need to slow this down, and we should encourage that. There have been some on the left who’ve said we shouldn’t allow them to make that decision. I agree that that can’t be a long-term solution. Government has to be regulating this. I heard one of Donald Trump’s main advisers on this make the argument that the market will take care of it. These companies will solve the safety issues because they have every incentive to do so. If it turns out to be dangerous, people will just sue them. And they’re worried about financial liability. That’s not how we treat airlines, or drug companies, or food companies. We now have 150 years of experience just letting the market do whatever it wants when it comes to things that deeply affect our health and our safety. And so, there’s no replacement for an effective, government regulatory structure. And the challenge we have is that obviously, we have a president currently that has said that’s for losers. So, we’ve got a gap, at least of a couple of years, where things are moving really fast, and we have an administration that is not capable of or willing to, I would argue both, of putting together a serious regulatory framework, which is why I actually think we should be encouraging some sort of voluntary industry restraint, not because it’s a replacement, but because that may be the best we can do for now until we can get Congress and the White House to start getting serious about this."

🚨 NOW — JESSE WATTERS NAILS IT: "This is not an equal thing. China and the United States, we have a lot more nukes, we have a lot more carriers, we just beat them to the moon, we just kicked them out of the Panama Canal, and we just wiped out two of their black market gas stations..." "...and showed that we can, if we want to, embargo them if they get frisky with Taiwan — because we control the Straits in the South China Sea and in the Middle East." "And while we've been in Iran, we've been doing war games with all of our billion in weapons to Taiwan, and we have another $25 billion arms package waiting on the president's desk." "He doesn't want to sign it there. It's too humiliating for the Chinese. So he'll wait." "China is still our number one trade partner, though. So there are going to be big business deals announced with Boeing and agriculture. The problem is the chips we make need their minerals." "So we're on a little bit of a smash and grab mineral run all over the world, which has been fun to watch." "We still have about a 50 percent tariff rate on the Chinese, but Trump has cultivated a very good relationship with Xi Jinping over the last eight or so years." "Doesn't mean he's not going to hit him with charges against hacking and spying and dumping." "They love to dump dumping goods all over the world because their consumers don't buy. And the quarantine, along with our chip controls, are really starting to show cracks in the Chinese economy." "So the test is, how long is China willing to wait until they call the gay Ayatollah and say you got to open up the street?" "I think Xi's watching Trump. How long is Trump willing to maintain the blockade on Iran? So right now it's a test of wills. And I think the president is in a good place."

Chamath: "Nvidia is not doing what's in the best interest of the United States." 🇺🇸🇨🇳 "I think we can all do the math. About 47% of all of NVIDIA's revenue goes to China and Chinese-related countries." "And I think when you peel back this onion, what you will find is a whole raft of companies that were stood up to buy these Nvidia GPUs to essentially act as a waystation for China." "And I think that is the big problem." "Let's have a thought starter: if 47% of all of the AI capability and horsepower is being shipped to three Asian countries, where do you think the apps that require that amount of horsepower live?" "Is there a Cursor of Bhutan that we did not know? Is there a great shopping app in Cambodia that's come out of nowhere, that's AI powered?" "I think the answer is no." "Every single time we have an advance in the United States, how is it that Alibaba shows up with something incredible? DeepSeek shows up with something better?" "At every turn and at every step of AI, they are at the same rate or one step ahead." "To be honest with you, I think the real problem that we have is that Nvidia is not doing what is in the best interest of the United States." "You have a American company that has been working around the guidelines at every turn to try to land silicon into the hands of China." "Late last year, they introduced this thing called the H20 that was explicitly designed for China and to be compliant with US rules at the time." "Which again, gives these guys substantial performance." "This is a case where (Nvidia) has plausible deniability. I sell something to a Singaporean registered company? Plausible deniability." "What am I supposed to do? You can't expect me to audit it. I think that's what NVIDIA's answer will be to this question." "But what is the real expectation? At a minimum, the United States should have a mechanism to understand it." "It is implausible that if you did one or two layers of work, you would not find that most of this traffic is being used by Chinese organizations."
