Today we just installed the fourth CNC machine on our shop floor which was built entirely in-house. If we hadn’t invested years into R&D and machine development, we’d still be importing this equipment and sending thousands of dollars out of the country for the same capability. Today, for this particular capacity, we operate more machines of our own design than imported ones. That shift wasn’t overnight and it didn’t come cheap. But it was worth it. Many more to come.

The contract value will be up to $3 billion and will include pilot and technical-personnel training as well as the supply of necessary combat materiel. Su-30MKI fighters are produced in India under license, with 70–80% of their components — including aerodynamic structures, avionics, and other systems — manufactured domestically in India. Although the fighters use Russian engines, their technical maintenance and assembly can already be carried out in India, and a program is underway to replace the baseline Russian passive radar with Indian-made active electronically scanned array (AESA) radars. In summary: Armenia is seeking to balance Azerbaijan’s acquisition of Pakistan-supplied JF-17 Block III aircraft. At present, the Indian Su-30MKI appears to be the best option for Armenia because these aircraft are already in Indian service and would not require years of waiting (deliveries are planned for 2026–2027). Armenia also has experience operating Russian Su-30SMs and, importantly, would reduce its future dependence on Russia for maintenance, ammunition, and other services.
