SIGN DEAL ON 1.5MTPA FLOATING LNG PROJECT In a major step towards bolstering Nigeria's energy security and promoting the utilization of its abundant gas resources, the NNPC Ltd. and UTM Offshore Limited have today in Abuja signed a Heads of Terms (HoT) agreement for the construction of the nation's first indigenous Floating LNG project. Describing the Floating LNG project as a "must-do" initiative for Nigeria, the NNPC Ltd. GCEO, Mele Kyari, OFR, OFR, expressed the company’s readiness to secure gas feedstock towards the project. Also speaking at the occasion, the Group Managing Director, UTM Offshore Ltd., Julius Rone, expressed his delight at the partnership with NNPC Ltd., stating that this milestone achievement showcased the capability of indigenous companies to collaborate with world-class energy conglomerates to drive growth in Nigeria's energy sector. He further explained that apart from significantly cutting down on gas flaring and supporting the country's commitment to reducing carbon emissions, the project would also create over 7,000 job opportunities, contributing to the nation's economic growth and development. Dangote Refinery is trending because, Aliko Dangote's refinery has started selling Petrol to the public. But, NNPC will be the exclusive buyers. - Monopoly achieved ? The Vice President of Dangote Refinery hinted that should any sabotage arise, and no one buys from them, they will not hesitate to export out of Nigeria, just how they export their diesel and jet fuel. This is was yesterday, when the refinery was yet to reach an agreement with NNPCL. But, now NNPC have reached an agreement with Dangote to supply him crude in Naira. And this month the refinery will supply them 25million litres of fuel, and 30million next month. The refinery is expected to produce 650k barrels per day. But NNPC failed to provide them enough crude oil, which resulted to the delay in commencement of their operation. NNPC being exclusive buyers means that, they will reach an agreement with Dangote prompting them to only purchase PMS from Dangote for an agreed period of time. And, understanding that NNPC is in serious international debt with no international supplier willing to supply them Petrol. - One can arguably say that Dangote has gotten what he wanted, and is on course to secure Oil Monopoly. Recall that in July NNPC accused Dangote of seeking oil monopoly with poor fuel quality. Which frustrated him to to opt out of building a steel plant and suggesting that Dangote Refinery was up for sale. This morning Aliko Dangote used the opportunity to show Nigerians that the real color of quality fuel is "colorless", like water. And he assured Nigerians that, this is what they will be getting from his refinery, unlike the bad product that has been circulating the country for nearly three decades. Assuring Nigerians that their vechicles will last longer, and the environment will be safer. Dangote refinery will be the first refinery to work in Nigeria since 1996. Yet, Nigerians are saying it's not enough. That to properly combat the now natural fuel shortage, FG should allow independent suppliers to give NNPC competition.

NNPC is trending because they want to sue th tiktoker for doing a video showing how their fuel burnt faster than Dangote’s fuel. But the interesting thing is in paragraph 3. Also, they’re are still importing fuel, perhaps Malta, allegedly. Few days, ago a content creator bought 1ltr of Dangote Refinery’s fuel from MRS, and 1ltr of NNPC’s fuel. Put the two in different brand new generators. Alas, NNPC lasted 17mins, while Dangote’s lasted 30mins. Nigerians argued that the experiment was flawed, citing generator engine difference. Today, NNPC released a six paragraphed statement debunking the claims. Stating it is an attack from saboteurs, they will pursue legal steps and the experiment is amateur. In paragraph 3. They argued that the “NNPC” fuel the guy used in the experiment was gotten from an independent NNPC retailer who perhaps sourced their products from Dangote.. — Dangote, who “adheres” to strict industry standards. Basically implying that Dangote’s fuel is more quality than theirs. As their’s is focused on affordability, in context. Recall, during the peak of NNPC & Dangote beef, NNPC categorically said Nigerian do not need premium fuel. Despite claims that Warri Refinery, Port Harcourt refineries are now working, according to NairaMetric, NNPC imported over 200M litres of petrol just between February 1, 2025, and February 12, 2025. Anyways, before this video.. a lot of people have given positive reviews of Dangote’s fuel, and it’s contrast with NNPC’s. All insisting that Dangote’s lasts longer than NNPC. 🔥🔥🔥Today, I had the privilege of visiting the Port Harcourt refinery under the management of NNPC Limited and it was a deeply enlightening experience. The NNPC is paying the price for not telling its incredible story. The magnitude of what I saw deserves the loudest applause. For a moment, consider this: the 70% progress achieved so far at the refinery has involved laying over 300 kilometers of pipes and installing more than 800 kilometers of cables—an engineering feat of epic proportions that has gone largely unacknowledged. To walk through the facility is to witness the blood, sweat, and genius it has taken to breathe life into this 59-year-old 60,000 barrels per day refinery now producing at 70% capacity. Reviving such an aging structure is a challenge that defies imagination. Building afresh may sound simpler, but the financial implications would be staggering. For those who question Mele Kyari, OFR’s leadership, a visit to this refinery would undoubtedly change their tune. Instead of criticism, they would be singing his praises. I cannot overstate my admiration for the dedicated team that made this visit possible: Femi Soneye , Head of Corporate Communications; Bayo Adenrele , MD of Refineries; Mr. Ibrahim Onoja, MD of the Port Harcourt Refining Company Ltd; and all the other unsung heroes working day and night at the refineries. Tantita Security Services, intercepted a suspicious Vessel with a Cargo of Crude oil on board on July 7, 2023. The Vessel, MT TURA II (IMO number: 6620462), owned by a Nigerian Registered Company, HOLAB MARITIME SERVICES LIMITED with Registration Number RC813311, was heading to Cameroun with the Cargo on board when it was apprehended at an offshore location (Latitude: 5.8197194477543235°, Longitude: 4.789002723991871°), with the Captain and Crew members on board. Preliminary investigations revealed that the crude oil cargo onboard was illegally sourced from a well jacket offshore Ondo State, Nigeria. There was no valid documentation for the Vessel or the Crude Oil Cargo onboard at the time of the arrest. Further investigation into the activities of the vessel at the NNPC Ltd. Command and Control Centre also revealed that the Vessel has been operating in stealth mode for the last twelve (12) years. The last reported location of the Vessel was Tin Can Port in July 2011. Details of this arrest and the outcomes of the investigations were escalated to the appropriate Government authorities, upon which it was concluded to destroy the Vessel to serve as a strong warning and deterrent to all those participating in such illegal activities to cease and desist. Destroying vessels involved in transporting stolen crude oil is of paramount importance as a strong deterrent. Today, on the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, we not only recognize the soldiers defending Ukraine at the moment but also cherish the memory of the male and female Defenders who died protecting Ukraine. Some of them were farmers, some of them were poets, and some of them ran successful businesses. They wanted to live, raise children, travel... To make coffee in the morning, to achieve success at work, and to hug their loved ones in the evenings. But the war unleashed by Russia forced them to take up arms. Our brave Warriors gave their lives for Ukraine and a peaceful sky for their children. And we will do everything to finish what they fought for - for preserving our statehood and for people to live in a peaceful and free country. Let's honor the memory of all the fallen Heroes.
