And now it has come to a situation whereby the government of India is understanding that there is no recognition, respect or dignity for election Comission. So in order to give some semblance of dignity and recognition, now they are bringing election commission in the ambit of the textbook of NCERT... I don't think by making them a chapter in a textbook, anything can be regained or restored. First of all, they should behave and function like an independent institution to protect the democracy. Unless they do that, there is no point in bringing them as part of the textbook because their deeds should be judged..."
