[WATCH] ON ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION What people don’t understand when they argue that the ANC promotes illegal immigration and is for illegal immigration, what they deliberately misunderstand is that we are firm on the law. The law must take its course and the state alone must enforce laws, because it’s got the responsibility to do that. We have not opposed people who have publicly protested the issue of illegal immigration but have called for those protests to occur within the confines of the law. No citizen of our country must take the law unto their own hands, chase people, show hatred and call people “amakwerekwere”. That is not ubuntu, that is not South African. These are Africans, and they might have landed in our country illegally and we believe that lawfully as we are seeing our government at this moment, they must be assisted to go back home peacefully. We must protect our borders as BMA is doing because they are too porous. Let us not make it possible for illegal immigration to flourish in our country. #RegisterToVoteANC #LGE2026

In Africa, continental instruments such as the Africa Continental Free Trade Area will serve as gateway to intra-Africa trade as well as trade with other countries of the South and the developed economies. The AU must be canvassed to formulate think tanks that will become moral and intellectual custodians of our development trajectory as a continent. WATCH] On behalf of the African National Congress, I want to state that we a country of over 60 million. There are many people who come to our country and many come to our country to contribute to the wealth of our country and its progress. Many contribute positively in our country. There are people in our country who have taken it upon themselves to do things which the vast majority do not condone and this must not paint South Africans as xenophobic. Indeed we do have a challenge of illegal immigration in South Africa and it’s not a problem unique to South Africa. There are many country’s affected by this. South Africa is a signatory of the Geneva Convention and we must deal with this challenge within the perimeters of the law. We can’t deal with it with hatred. That is why government has adopted a program of action to deal with this particular challenge which the President has made a public announcement. We have called for law enforcement and calmness and follow the government’s Action Plan on dealing with illegal immigration. We have made it very clear as the ANC, we cannot and should not be associated with anything that amounts to hate crimes. In this particular instance the majority of South Africans are people of Ubuntu and humanity. Because we too would not be free without the solidarity and assistance of country’s such as Mozambique in the fight against apartheid. Many people sacrificed such as Samora Machel the President of Mozambique and many combatants died here fighting against apartheid. #ANCinMozambique #ANCatWORK

South Africa has withdrawn from America and our allies in recent years while deepening its relationships with our foreign adversaries like China, Russia, Iran, and Hamas. Secretary Rubio agrees that a FULL review of our bilateral relationship with South Africa would be beneficial to OUR country! We must pass my U.S.-South Africa Bilateral Relations Review Act to give the State Department the tools they need to develop America’s future strategy towards the country.

Our petition is clear: The Speakers of our two Houses of Parliament must remain neutral and cannot engage in active politics while in office. We are entering the courts to protect the Constitution and demand absolute accountability.

South Africa does business with other African countries. We buy oil from the continent and many South African business do business on the continent.
