PLAYERS NEED TO WORK ON PASSING TO POST Post touches are such an easy way to get paint touches and draw the defense in. It is so true that players in today’s game STRUGGLE PASSING TO THE POST. Most of them don’t ever do it. I watch so many games where teams miss opportunities to get easy baskets or kick out threes bc their guards 1- don’t even look in the post, 2- can’t make the entry pass. You want your bigs to screen for you, rebound, and do all the dirty work … give them a post touches every now and again and get them involved

Learn to play defense, it’s really simple. You only need two defensive roles: one covering high, and one covering low and the pass. If your opponents are capable of going into the air, then covering the backboard should be your main priority. A good rule of thumb is that if you are near post in defense, you cover the backboard, and your teammate at far post covers low and the pass. Here is a player who keeps getting scored on because they don't understand near-post and far-post roles.
