#WATCH | Washington, DC (US): When asked what Muslims mean for the RSS and the community's perception for the organisation, RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale says, "Forefathers of Indian Muslims were Indians, they had been Hindus. So, 99.99% of the Muslims in India are descendants of the Indian origin Hindus. So, we feel and we believe that they are part and parcel of our society. They might have changed their mode of worship and their religion but they have not changed their nationality or civilisational roots. This is what we have been conveying. Because of certain other mechanisations and political interests, there have been some tensions on and off and that has to be removed. That is why, a continuous and comprehensive dialogue with the Muslim leadership is also required. That RSS has engaged in in the last few years, in order to remove these misgivings, if at all it is there."

Very very important This is extremely shocking and the people of India deserve to know this. Last evening, Hon'ble Vice President of India and Rajya Sabha Chairman Sh Jagdeep Dhankar said in the House that "since the last 25 years, I have been an 'Eklavya' of the RSS". He then went on to shower praise on the RSS and said that his only "regret" was that he didn't join the RSS earlier. It was an open admission by the Hon'ble VP & Chair that he's a proud member of the RSS. Hon'ble VP & Chairman has the right to be a member of any organization that he pleases. However, 2 days ago, he expunged & removed parts of the speech of Leader of Opposition Kharge ji where he'd criticized the RSS. It is well-documented fact that the RSS is an organization that has been banned in the past for subversive activities. It is a communal organization and also, for the longest time, refused to accept the Constitution of India. Is it fair for the VP of India to be openly praising the RSS while sitting in a chair where he's expected to be neutral? It is extremely concerning and DANGEROUS that criticism of the RSS even by MPs is now being banned under the Modi Govt because the Chairman is a proud member of the RSS which he has openly admitted.

Hudson Institute is a US tax-exempt 501(c)(3), subsidized by the American public. Its Washington offices sit four blocks from the White House. It has been in a formal thirty-month partnership with the India Foundation — led by the son of India’s National Security Adviser, its board including sitting Indian government ministers, its president a member of the RSS National Executive. The Department of Justice, the Internal Revenue Service, and the congressional committees with jurisdiction over foreign influence and tax-exempt organizations have a responsibility to examine this partnership.
