Denzel Washington’s epic monologue towards the end of Training Day was largely improvised on set. Director Antoine Fuqua was so blown away by his performance, he says he thinks he "forgot to yell cut”. He explains… “That’s Denzel. He was just in his zone. I mean, that was one of those moment...people talk about AI. Those are the moments where you go...it's a great tool. It's gonna be a great tool, I think...but the emotion, and the moment that an actor can bring - you can't predict that. That's something that's just inside of Denzel. And when that came out, I was just like - I hope I got it. I just turned to my operator - who was shaking- I looked over at the guy - I was like, “please tell me you got that.” Because that was the take. That was it. There was no other take - I mean, how do you tell an actor like that, that that wasn't good enough? …He walked over to me, and he just had this look in his eyes. I was like, “you good?” He said, “you good?” I said, “Yeah…” Some of that was in the script, but he flipped it the way he did it. "Putting cases on all you." He kind of added some things in there. And then he just went into a whole other zone with the whole King Kong thing- with Pelican Bay - Denzel started that. That was Denzel. That was him, man. He just kind of lit up, and I think I forgot to yell cut. I was just watching it, because everybody started walking away, and I'm just watching him, and then he lights a cigarette - and he's talking - and I'm just watching him. I think at some point he probably looked at me like, you going to cut? And I'm like, “oh yeah, yeah, cut.” He was still in it. That's the thing with Denzel. He was so Alonso…I'm just watching him for a while because I didn't know what else he was going to do. It was just so magical. And then I think he looked up at me and I was like, “Okay, cut, cut.”

so jihoon didnt know jaehyuk kicked him. he jus thought something dropped on him 😭 🐶 I only found out from watching the video that Jaehyuk kicked me when he woke up. at the time, I did feel like I got hit by something, but I never thought it was Jaehyuk. I thought something just fell, like maybe a light fixture or something 🐶 but turns out, he kicked me with his foot. I didn’t realize it at all. I was half asleep thinking “did something fall? did the light drop or something?” but it was actually him kicking me. I couldn’t really see either. my eyes were sensitive, dry, and kind of blinded, so I didn’t even notice it was Jaehyuk 🐶 I seriously just thought something fell on me. If I had known, I would’ve immediately put him in a headlock, but since I didn’t know, I let it slide. I really didn’t know. 🐶 I mean logically, it’s not normal for someone to wake up and immediately kick the person next to them, right? u guys agree, right? #YUNHO said he was in the car with #SEONGHWA when his Lee Mujin Service came out 🥹 🐶: Seonghwa-hyung was sitting next to me, I was watching it too, and so.. he had his earphones in and was monitoring it. And while he was monitoring himself he just started smiling. And seeing him smile like that, without me even realising it, made me happy too? Yes.. I guess I felt really proud. There were some parts where they commented and spoke in between (the songs) too, and.. I feel like that too sometimes so I understood, that feeling of being proud of himself while watching. And also, I witnessed him preparing for this so.. and while he was watching it, I was next to him and he was just like…(imitates him looking down at the phone with a proud smile)… smiling. #SEONGHWA about meeting DPRIAN 😭🩶 ⭐️: Yesterday, I finally had time in my schedule.. actually, more than my schedule permitting it, hyungnim had time in his and he also happened to be in LA, so I went to see him. He said he wanted to show me around his studio and somehow everything just lined up… so I became a successful fan! Yesterday was actually the first time I got to meet him and he greeted me really warmly ㅎㅎ When I arrived to the practice room he was blowing bubbles, like this, to welcome me. So it was very ㅎㅎ very fun and heartwarming. He gave me a tour of the studio and ordered pizza for us to share. While we were eating, I asked him a lot of questions about things I was curious about, like music video behind stories and details about songs of his I love. You know the way we interpret a song differs depending on the listener, but I wanted to hear directly from him what kind of feeling he had when creating those songs. I wanted to hear the real stories from the person who made them, so I asked a lot of those kinds of questions. And it was really fascinating because what I had in mind was actually very similar to what hyungnim had intended. So that was very fascinating. He also told me so many kind and encouraging things… it really motivated me a lot, especially in what I’m doing now. So, ever since I came to the U.S. I was hoping I could meet him and get his autograph. I went all over the place trying to find a CD… but wow, everything was sold out! So eventually I was like, “Ah, it can’t be helped, I’ll just go without one.” I really like keeping physical albums from artists. For books too, e-books are great too, but there’s something special about being able to touch and feel a real book or album, you know? But then, just as we were saying goodbye, hyungnim said he had something for me and handed me the album himself. And then he said that he had left the message section empty on purpose because he was like “I wanted to write something after actually meeting you Seonghwa-ssi and seeing how I felt”. So just before I left, he wrote it down and the words were so beautiful. That really stayed with me. I too, when meeting others, used to write the messages in advance and bring them along, but now I feel like… if I ever get the chance again, I’d also like to write something based on my impression after the meeting and give it to them. There’s something really romantic about that. Also, watching him work (know about his artistic process) up close.. wow, it was just… really, really cool. So yeah I had such a happy, unforgettable time. He said he watched a lot of our performances too, and when he talked about the ones he’s seen, it made me so happy. On stage, he come across as super sexy, right? But when he was speaking, he was so humble and just kind… he just genuinely felt like a hyung. He was incredibly sweet and.. ah, am I like that too? ㅎㅎ I really had a good time. What stage he liked best? He said he’s seen my solo stage. I’m not sure if it was from Towards The Light or this current one (Skin), but he said it was really great to see how deeply I immersed myself in the concept. He also mentioned watching our Coachella stage, and he really enjoyed the sword-drawing part too. He shared a lot of really kind and encouraging words. To be honest, I had worried that my visit might feel like a burden or a hassle for him, but it was the opposite. He was so warm and welcoming, and apparently he was actually really curious about me too and really wanted to talk to me. So it ended up being a truly wonderful day. I came back full of inspiration. Of course, our biggest motivation is always ATINY but this became a new kind of motivation for me, a new inspiration.

You know the way we interpret a song differs depending on the listener, but I wanted to hear directly from him what kind of feeling he had when creating those songs. I wanted to hear the real stories from the person who made them, so I asked a lot of those kinds of questions. And it was really fascinating because what I had in mind was actually very similar to what hyungnim had intended. So that was very fascinating. He also told me so many kind and encouraging things… it really motivated me a lot, especially in what I’m doing now. So, ever since I came to the U.S. I was hoping I could meet him and get his autograph. I went all over the place trying to find a CD… but wow, everything was sold out! So eventually I was like, “Ah, it can’t be helped, I’ll just go without one.” I really like keeping physical albums from artists. For books too, e-books are great too, but there’s something special about being able to touch and feel a real book or album, you know? But then, just as we were saying goodbye, hyungnim said he had something for me and handed me the album himself. And then he said that he had left the message section empty on purpose because he was like “I wanted to write something after actually meeting you Seonghwa-ssi and seeing how I felt”. So just before I left, he wrote it down and the words were so beautiful. That really stayed with me. I too, when meeting others, used to write the messages in advance and bring them along, but now I feel like… if I ever get the chance again, I’d also like to write something based on my impression after the meeting and give it to them. There’s something really romantic about that. Also, watching him work (know about his artistic process) up close.. wow, it was just… really, really cool. So yeah I had such a happy, unforgettable time. He said he watched a lot of our performances too, and when he talked about the ones he’s seen, it made me so happy. On stage, he come across as super sexy, right? But when he was speaking, he was so humble and just kind… he just genuinely felt like a hyung. He was incredibly sweet and.. ah, am I like that too? ㅎㅎ I really had a good time. What stage he liked best? He said he’s seen my solo stage. I’m not sure if it was from Towards The Light or this current one (Skin), but he said it was really great to see how deeply I immersed myself in the concept. He also mentioned watching our Coachella stage, and he really enjoyed the sword-drawing part too. He shared a lot of really kind and encouraging words. To be honest, I had worried that my visit might feel like a burden or a hassle for him, but it was the opposite. He was so warm and welcoming, and apparently he was actually really curious about me too and really wanted to talk to me. So it ended up being a truly wonderful day. I came back full of inspiration. Of course, our biggest motivation is always ATINY but this became a new kind of motivation for me, a new inspiration.
