The 2.4 km stretch of sand area from Uzhaipalar Silai to the Light House will be kept clean with the help of mechanised sweepers in the morning. The conservancy workers will work in two shifts. This is Mylapore, off Radhakrishnan Salai near Vivekananda college. NO ONE has come to clear the water here. It’s been like this since yesterday, and by the minute more sewage water is coming out and getting mixed. Water has entered all the houses at ground floor level here. Please do something about this and other parts of Mylapore. Water has never stagnated here, not even during the 2015 floods. All through the year, they kept digging up the roads and multiple times the roads caved in and they kept restoring. Now the whole thing has reversed and water is completely stagnated. People in the apartments and houses here are not able to step outside to get basic needs and provisions. Not even drinking water. We’ve not had power for more than 48 hours now. The power was cut around 10 PM day before yesterday. No network either, until we come out of the apartment or go to some corners in the terrace. Over two weeks later, we still know very little and the details leaking out are worse than we thought… We’re now finding out that he was UNCONSCIOUS before he was rushed to the hospital. What else are they hiding? The staff around him are using him to cling to power. Let him rest. It’s just cruel at this point.

Just visited Wazirabad water treatment plant (of 134 MGD capacity) which stopped functioning from 13.07.2023 9.50 AM and since it also supplies Raw Water to Okhala(24 MGD) and Chandrawal (105 MGD) Water Treatment Plants, these plants had also stopped producing water. Yesterday evening Okhala WTP was restarted in full capacity and by tomorrow afternoon the other two WTPs will be started. DJB officers are all working 24/7, they have successfully pumped out the flood water from all the four Raw water pump houses and now they are using techniques to dry panels and motors and once they are dried out adequately, they will be put back in the system. At present the treated water in Delhi is down by 271 MGD including Palla's submerged tubewells cumulatively supplying 32 MGD. Honble CM Sri Arvind Kejriwal Ji is checking the work's progress every now and then. Plz share this video especially with people in water deficit areas so that they know that Kejriwal Govt is continuously and vigorously working so that WTPs resume their water production like before at the earliest.
