"why? just hard work from my engineers and from myself to improve me as a driver" 👏🏻👏🏻 🗣️: friday night did you think you had the car to win the race? and do you have an explanation of the difference of pace between you and oscar? lando: "no, i didn't think so. especially after fp1, i didn't. actually, andrea wanted to make a bet with me because i was pretty disappointed with the pace and how the car was handling in fp1. it got a bit better in fp2, but still the ferraris were just on another level. and i really didn't expect to get as close as we did in quali. but the wind changed from friday to saturday, and the saturday wind really suited our car a lot more. we had a lot more confidence in driving the car, so i could push more. and then i certainly felt like i could be on pole yesterday, and i felt like i could win a race today. i think today the race pace was much better than i was expecting. the degradation was much better than i was expecting too. but it was probably one of my best performances personally in terms of driving the car. the fact i can keep up with oscar on this kind of track, where it's impossible to follow, impossible to overtake, i was within eight tenths or something for 40 laps almost. the fact i could do this is what gave me confidence that i would win the race no matter what, whether he boxed early or late or whatever. the pace advantage i had was huge today. but i don't know why. the cars are identical. and i've just been feeling very, very strong lately. i've worked on many areas from last year. i feel much more confident lately with how to extract performance. and i worked a lot with my engineers to understand this car, because it's certainly not an easy car to understand and figure out on how to drive on the limit consistently. so why? just hard work from my engineers and from myself to improve me as a driver and improve my driving. and that is the answer"

San Francisco, CA (JUL.04 + 05 2026)- The Sunset Project™️ has been busy over the last 24 hours, trying to sort out the carnage in the Bay Area last night. No matter how you look at it, Waymo brought several areas of the city to a complete standstill and blocked emergency vehicles, as well as all other traffic for hours on end. So far here are the factors that caused the total system failure (all typical issues regularly shown here on the program)- 1. Targeting events. Waymos were damaged and one OJAI destroyed from external attacks. 2. Widescale freeze events due to failure to proceed through an intersection or stop sign controlled intersection for a period of time that requires a remote supervisor to help. 3. Power outage stoplights. We found a couple examples of blinking stop lights which Waymo continues to struggle without supervisor assistance. 4. Heavy pedestrian interference. As a Waymo fails to pass through an intersection or make progress on the street for a certain period of time, they appear to require supervisor assistance to validate a route. This process could not be completed in a timely manner as the supervisor controlled route planning system was overwhelmed by too many vehicle requests. 5. Long periods of frozen vehicles in traffic caused several Waymos to become bricked most likely from dead batteries. None of these are new issues. These are all the same general safety critical failures that we see every day from the Waymo Driver system. Once these issues are combined at scale on a busy evening, you effectively have a complete shutdown of a city. We will wait for Waymo to make the same PR announcement that they always make- Some of their vehicles were impacted, and they have learned a lot from what happened. They won’t ever tell us what they learned or how they will fix it, but they always tell us how much they are learning. This might be the most insane battle in tech history. And everyone's watching the wrong thing. Waymo just raised $15 billion at a $100 BILLION valuation. That's a 122% jump in 14 months. Meanwhile, Tesla started testing truly driverless robotaxis in Austin last week. But here's what nobody's saying out loud: This war was already decided. And Waymo won. The market just told us exactly how much real autonomy is worth versus promises. Tesla's entire $1.5 trillion valuation assumes robotaxis will generate trillions in revenue. Waymo's actual working robotaxis doing 450,000 weekly paid rides across five cities are worth $100 billion. That's the gap between fantasy and reality priced in real money. And it gets crazier when you look at what's actually happening on the ground. Waymo crossed 127 million fully autonomous miles. Zero humans in the car. Ever. They went from testing to fully autonomous in Dallas and Houston in six months. The "can't scale" argument just died in Texas. Meanwhile Tesla just removed the safety driver from 30 cars in Austin. After six months of supervised testing. With seven reported crashes to NHTSA. Elon claimed they'd have 500 robotaxis in Austin by end of 2025. They have 29. Deutsche Bank predicted 1,500 across Austin and San Francisco. But they're nowhere close. The real story isn't the numbers. It's the business model everyone missed. For years, Tesla bulls said Waymo's approach was too expensive to scale. Lidar costs tens of thousands. HD mapping takes forever. Remote monitoring eats margins. Tesla's vision-only system costs $400 per car. Waymo's sensor suite costs $12,700. Simple math says Tesla wins, right? Wrong. Because they're not selling the same product. Tesla is selling supervised driver assistance to consumers who pay $99/month and still have to watch the road. Waymo is selling fully autonomous rides to passengers who literally sleep in the back seat. Those are completely different businesses with completely different economics. And the market just valued the difference at $100 billion. Here's the part that destroys the Tesla narrative: Waymo's cost per vehicle is dropping faster than anyone predicted. Their 6th generation system coming in the new Zeekr van will cost under $20,000. Getting competitive with Tesla's hardware while maintaining full autonomy. Meanwhile Tesla's FSD has been "months away" from unsupervised operation for five years straight. The technical gap is widening and NOT closing. Waymo just launched freeway operations across San Francisco, Phoenix, and LA. They're expanding to 12 new U.S. cities in 2026 plus London and Tokyo. That's the opposite of "can't scale." Tesla can't even get a California permit to test without a safety driver. But wait, there's more... Waymo's safety data makes Tesla look reckless. 88% reduction in property damage claims compared to humans. 92% reduction in bodily injury claims. Those numbers come from Swiss Re, not Waymo's marketing team. Tesla's response? "Trust us, it's safer than humans." No comprehensive data. No third-party verification. Meanwhile actual insurance companies are pricing the difference. Everyone's debating cameras versus lidar. That's like arguing about gasoline versus diesel when one company has working cars and the other has prototypes. The real question is: who understood the path to market first? Waymo spent 15 years building a system that actually works. Incremental progress. Conservative timelines. Real safety validation. They're boring. They're slow. They're methodical. And they won. Tesla promised magic. Flashy demos. Aggressive timelines. Revolutionary technology. They're exciting. They're fast. They're bold. And they're stuck in supervised mode with 29 cars. Here's what happens next: Waymo takes this $15 billion and floods the market. 100,000 vehicles. At current utilization rates, that's 10% of the entire U.S. ride-hailing market. They become the default autonomous option in every major city by 2027. Tesla either admits FSD Supervised isn't ready for full autonomy, or they keep testing with 30 cars and hoping for a breakthrough. The market has spoken. Real autonomy with expensive sensors beats cheap cameras that need human supervision. Not because the technology is better. Because the business model actually works. A note last night in the first half. We really did play some excellent football. Whilst i know Ugbo is, rightfully, coming under some stick of his lack of goals, he offers so much more to how we play. As does Josh Windass, who I am noticing is just about getting the recognition he deserves from the fans. The play in the first half was very different to the second half when those 2 went off. They both offer so much more insofar as overall game than the other options we have in those areas. A few clips below from key moments in the first half. Windass really did run the show in the final third and build up. He comes out of areas to allow straight passes where he is an option for first time reverse balls. He and Pol have really good chemistry down the right as Josh knows he will overlap and beat his man. The awareness from Josh with scanning that i picked out, allowing for high tempo play into space. I rode in a Zoox (self-driving Amazon car) today! Overall an amazing experience; another rare time where the present truly looks, feels, and sounds like the future Waymo set a *very* high standard for me to compare to but I feel like Zoox was able to achieve a similar level of polish throughout the experience Pros: • App is great and actually works (rare!) • Driving is very smooth, about the same as a Waymo (both of which are nicer and smoother than most humans) • The leg space and seat layout are great and unparalleled. There's drink holders, usb ports, wireless charging, and music control on touch screen • 10/10 SFX, voice, animations, and subtle details. They matter! Cons: • Service area is small (mostly East Mission + SOMA, see below) • I feel a little less safe in Zoox versus Waymo. Waymo still has a driver's seat, a steering wheel, and more importantly, a dashboard which shows me what the car sees and what it is thinking and planning. Zoox has none of these (the touch screens don't show me LIDAR or AI predictions), which does feel super cool, but will take me a bit to get used to • The vehicle draws attention to itself more so than Waymo due to its irregularity, which I dislike because I don't feel safe in NE Mission and SOMA (but this isn't really Zoox's fault, is it? I trust it to not crash me!) • No Spotify integration but I could choose songs from Zoox FM Misc: • My pickup time was 7min, which is on par with or ~2min above my average Waymo pickup time • My ride was free. I don't know what the price will settle on when there's larger availability and also don't know current availability or timelines • There were two semi-urgent stops on my ride from a cyclist and a motorcyclist who both came aggressively close (around 1ft) to me. One stop was a bit less smooth than Waymo's would have been, but the car still made smart choices • Rides are available 8AM-11PM, riders must be 8 or older, no pets, alcohol, or smoking Overall: • Really cool experience. Feels less like taking a taxi and more like being in a smooth amusement park ride that tries (and succeeds!) at convincing me I'm living in the year 2030 • For now I'll stick with Waymo due to the UX, music control, familiarity, and availability (I've spent 105 hours of my life in a Waymo thus far apparently), but once Zoox expands their service area, especially if I'm with 2-3 friends, I'm looking forward to trying it more often Disclosures: • I love Waymo and self-driving cars • I own exactly one share in Amazon valued at $234 • I wasn't asked to tweet or review but no one told me I couldn't so send tweet

This is how a CEO loses credibility with me. Cofounder of NuroAI A is making an AI that can drive vehicles, was winning me over through demonstrations of his more flexible AI than Tesla has demonstrated. Drove in left-hand Japan with no prior training on such. Learned by decomposing the road into all of its parts. So figured out that you needed to drive in the left instantly. But then he said LiDAR is demonstrating itself to be safer. So I stuck up my hand and asked for a situation where LiDAR and camera is safer than camera only approaches, which his company sells too. “A child all in black at night, particularly around a corner.” So tonight after I drove my friend home at 2:30 a.m. I studied this in deep detail in my wife’s Model Y with hardware 4 and Tesla Self Driving controlling the car. 1. Cameras can see far more than humans can at night. 2. Modern cars come with matrix headlights. Which go around the turn and illuminate anywhere a car can turn. 3. Every intersection has a light on almost every intersection. Where there is none why would a child in black be playing on the street in the dark. 4. Tesla has a “zoomed in” telephoto camera as one of the cameras under the windshield so it can actually see ahead far better than a human can. Plus the other night this car drove around a clump of dirt and rocks on the road at 50 mph. I didn’t even see it until the car had already quickly turned around it. I give you his speech here. But you gotta come up with better examples of why a car company needs to spend “low thousands” (his quote, not mine) per car more on LiDARs than that.

👤: What have you learned from each other? 🐒: For me, I’ve picked up on how quiet she is when she works. I mean, that’s just her natural vibe, she’s not even trying to be quiet, it's just who she is. So, I’ve actually changed because of it. It’s not that I’ve become grumpy or less friendly, it’s just that I’m learning to hold back my words and really focus on what’s right in front of me. I used to have this habit of feeling like I had to entertain the crew and keep everyone hyped up, which just left me completely drained by the end of the day. We can still chat and mess around while getting our makeup done or during breaks, but once we’re actually on set, I don’t really need to talk with anyone. It really helps save my battery, keeps me grounded, and lets me focus on the job. 🦙: For me, I've learned how to loosen up and relax more while working. Before this, I used to feel like, 'Okay, I'm here to work now, so everything has to be serious and I have to get things done strictly in order: “one, two, three, four”’. But Jayna is so playful and loves to chat. She’ll talk to absolutely everyone, and it makes the whole atmosphere on set so much better. Once I tried opening up and chatting more, I realized that coming to work each day feels a lot happier. It doesn't feel as stressful as just 'showing up to do a job.' Now, we can joke around on set and with each other, and chat with the makeup and hair stylists. 🐒: so basically, 🦙: we swapped! 🐒: exactly. The Cybercab is aiming to produce 2 million units per year. Let this sink in. Today, Tesla produces about ~1.7 million vehicles per year total, across its entire lineup. And now Tesla is preparing to outproduce that with one single vehicle, a fully autonomous one. This is Elon and Tesla going ALL-IN on autonomy. Production is scheduled to start April 2026 at Giga Texas, with volume ramping throughout the year. And as of early 2026, Cybercab prototypes are already being tested around the U.S. The Tesla Cybercab is built from the ground up for unsupervised autonomy. There is no steering wheel and no pedals, just cameras, AI, and Tesla’s custom inference computers. No lidar and radar like other companies, just pure vision and software. Elon put it best on the Q3 2024 earnings call: “It’s not just a revolutionary vehicle design, but a revolution in vehicle manufacturing that is also coming with the Cybercab.” That quote matters a lot bc that means the entire way a vehicle is manufactured is changing with the Cybercab. Tesla is designing what Elon calls “the machine that builds the machine.” The Cybercab uses Tesla’s unboxed manufacturing process, where major sections are built in parallel instead of one long assembly line. There are fewer parts, less steps & cost, and faster scale. That’s how you make 2 million Cybercabs per year possible. FYI, this is not going to be easy though. Elon has been brutally honest about production for many years: • “Prototypes are easy, production is hard.” • “The extreme difficulty of scaling production of new technology is poorly understood. It’s 1000% to 10,000% harder than making a few prototypes.” • “For cars, it’s maybe 100 times harder to design the manufacturing system than the car itself.” He reinforced this again in January 2026 when talking about Cybercab and Optimus on 𝕏: “Initial production is always very slow and follows an S-curve. The speed of the production ramp is inversely proportional to how many new parts and steps there are. For Cybercab and Optimus, almost everything is new, so the early production rate will be agonizingly slow - but eventually end up being insanely fast.” This is the key thing most people miss about Tesla manufacturing. Early output will be slow by design. Almost everything is new like the vehicle architecture, factory layout, AI hardware, and manufacturing flow. But once it works and clicks, it begins to scale hard. Tesla already proved they can do this. They survived Model 3 production hell. They turned Model Y into the BEST selling car in the world, of any kind. They ramped Cybertruck, which has over 30,000+ unique parts, to meaningful volume. Elon summed it up perfectly in 2024: “Compared to the insane pain of reaching high volume, positive margin production, prototypes are a piece of cake.” That’s why Tesla makes manufacturing look easy bc they already earned the scars from the last vehicle lineups. The Cybercab is aiming to be: 1/ Under $30,000 price 2/ ~$0.20 per mile operating cost 3/ 200+ mile range 4/ Up to 5x utilization vs personal cars 5/ Designed to run nearly nonstop 24/7 This is what you call manufacturing + AI + autonomy converging at scale. The competitors are still showing prototypes and demos, while Tesla is building new production lines, expanding factories, and actually building the product. I remember when Elon told me in the past that one of Tesla’s key advantage long term was going to be manufacturing technology. I get it now.

Trump claims tariffs will make America rich again, but that’s not how it works. Tariffs aren’t paid by other countries—they’re paid by Americans. It’s not a tax on countries like China; it’s a tax on the stuff we buy. Here’s how it works: when the government puts a tariff on something, it raises the price of that product. The idea is to make imported goods more expensive so people buy American-made products instead. Sounds good, right? The problem is, most things we use in the U.S. are made overseas, and it would take years—or even decades—to make them here. And in some cases, it might never happen because it costs too much to produce those goods locally. For example, if something costs $50 and a tariff adds $5, the new price is $55. That extra cost comes out of your pocket. This can cause inflation, making everything more expensive, and people either stop buying or have to spend more because there are no cheaper options. So, who gets the money from tariffs? The U.S. government collects it, but it’s not paid by China or any other country. It’s paid by you—the American consumer. The U.S. can’t tax other countries directly, so the burden falls on taxpayers here. Tariffs can work if the product being taxed is already made in the U.S. For example, if China floods the market with super-cheap goods that hurt local manufacturers, tariffs can make those imports more expensive, giving American businesses a chance to compete. But slapping tariffs on goods we don’t make here—or won’t make for years—just makes things more expensive for everyone. That’s why no president has wanted to be known as a "tariff president." They knew tariffs are really just taxes on Americans and can backfire politically. If tariffs drive up prices and hurt voters’ wallets, it could mean big trouble in the next election. "The fact that you go all in on stocks makes you a gambler, not an investor." I hear this a lot. I have since I started investing with $20,000 in 2019 and went all in $TSLA. I hear it more today now that I'm investing millions of dollars in 2026, because this year has admittedly been one of my worst. Yet, I'm still looking a lot better than the $40,000 I would have if I had bought the S&P 500 in 2019. What people don't understand about my investing strategy is that because I buy asymmetrical bets where valuations are low and the stocks are counted out and disliked, I haven't had to be right every investment to maintain an ~80% CAGR since 2019, (yes counting from the trough I'm currently in). When I'm wrong I live to fight another day even despite often investing 100% of my net liquidity into a single position. If I'm right about $BETR and we get substantial rate cuts in the next five years... I'm not gonna recover from $1.5 million back to $10 million. I'm gonna hit $50 million+ I know the market is starting to think that rate cuts are nothing but a dream and Better is not a threat to incumbents... but funny enough that's the exact moment that you should be buying into a stock if you disagree. What's great is I only have to be right on one of these two points in order to make a lot of money over the next five years. For those in $PATH with me I want to say that I don't believe I was wrong about PATH at all. I still believe in the company, and still have a 5% position and still think that it's going to 5-10x over the next 5 years. However as software has pulled back and I discovered the Better opportunity, I decided it was smart to move up the risk curve (smaller market cap, less revenue, not profitable yet) to something that has sold off even more, has even more upside potential and an even faster growth rate. When everything in the software sector is out of favor and sold off, Higher Beta stocks are likely to go up a lot more if we see a sector wide recovery. I truly don't believe Better deserves to sell off any more than it currently has ($85 to $29) even if we found out it's only going to be a 10% revenue growth company after this year, which would be a huge disappointment. The valuation is simply already that discounted. Of course all of this is shared for entertainment. I am not your investment advisor, though i am out-returning him.

Congrats to EloShapes.com on their launch! On a similar note, is out of beta and available to the public. A lot of you have been asking me what my plan is now that EloShapes is also doing 3D scans... the answer is: nothing changed! I think that competition is good. I'm a mouse nerd and a LONG TIME EloShapes user, so the more options I get as a user, the better. I really think that my vision and EloShapes, though, is fundamentally different. I've had the domain for FMM for years, I have a much larger platform in mind compared to what I built so far. The 3D scans are the necessary step for my vision, not the end goal: they never were. I am also very proud of the fact that I've been able to scan at least 5 mice in full color EVERY DAY with my own pipeline, and I think I will easily have almost full coverage of the mice people would want on the website within months. Check the video for the mice I've added in just the last few days, all textured. Apart from some of the features I've mentioned before (like the virtual hand/grip), FMM is meant to be kind of a "MyAnimeList" for mice, so that you can share your profile, like this: and then later on leverage this curated list of mice you build for yourself to be shown even more mice you might like. FMM is also a tool for reviewers and anyone that wants to share their opinions on mice. Links like this: allow you to easily share your specific points about a mouse via the annotations, viewpoint sharing and measurements. And of course, as I've said since the beginning, I will use FMM to centralize all my hard testing about sensors, dpi, and such, so that you'll be able to find EVERYTHING about a mouse, including the raw results of my standardized sensor implementation testing.
