A Waymo driverless taxi drove straight through a police cordon at a live crime scene in Harlesden this week. Footage shows the white autonomous vehicle entering the scene as officers were investigating a double stabbing - crossing the “Do Not Cross” tape and ignoring the flashing lights of a police vehicle. The car eventually braked sharply to a stop. Officers were then seen speaking to a person inside the car before it reversed away. Waymo has been testing its driverless vehicles on London streets ahead of a planned UK launch. Safe to say this isn’t the rollout they would’ve wanted. The idea that Tesla is alone in the race to develop end-to-end vision system for self-driving and delivering into consumer vehicles is officially dead. Like dead, dead. I tested Xpeng's VLA 2.0 in the streets of Beijing, and it is comparable to my experience of daily driving Tesla FSD v14. Xpeng is not charging $100 a month to drive this. It is inlcuded in its higher-trim vehicles and it already caught the attention of Volkswagen, which is going to integrate into its own vehicles - something Tesla hasn't been able to do despite trying. Many of the Waymos are very visibly not where they should be, some stopped right in the middle of the streets Despite hiccups like this is was just announced today that Waymo will start driverless rides in 4 more US markets, they are accelerating expansion The new markets are San Diego, Las Vegas, Tampa, Florida, and Denver They are doing this examination to build a lead on competitors like Tesla and Zoox I believe Tesla will emerge the winner. I mean just listen to the sound of these Waymo vehicles together

American is in a self driving Waymo When he got in he realized the estimated time to his destination is way longer than it should be The Waymo is taking him in opposite directions, is circling random parking lots and won’t listen to him He’s calling support form inside the Waymo and the only option they have is to have him get out and book an Uber and they’ll refund him But now he’s in the middle of nowhere on a highway…. It was only supposed to take 7 minutes to get home but the trip is now 40+ minutes in the Waymo…. And now they want him to just get out and book an Uber At the end of the video he shows the Waymo vehicle screen, there is another 28 minutes until her gets to his destination He says he won’t be taking another driverless vehicle. I agree, I wouldn’t get into a Waymo either Rumor has it he’s still in the Waymo…..
