One of the biggest challenges faced by SMMEs is a lack of information and the availability of platforms that can support and grow emerging businesses. Today, we took a step to provide a platform that will answer that call for information. Tshwane Business Connect aims to match SMMEs to corporates that may have an interest in sourcing their services or are able to provide a much needed boost to their growth potential. We want businesses to not only choose Tshwane as a destination for investment, but they must feel confident to stay for the benefit of our economy 🇿🇦❤️. City of Tshwane

Good morning Tshwane. We are back with Tshwane Ya Tima. We’ve crossed the province to Hartbeespoort. Eagle Waters resort, a popular destination for year end functions, owes the city R4 million. We switched off the facility from all angles. The purpose of these operations is to restore a culture of paying for services whether by residents or businesses. City of Tshwane

Good morning Tshwane. We are in Pretoria West. We have been directed to this area by the ward Cllr for Ward 3, Malesela Rakabe. We are currently at hijacked City of Tshwane residential properties. The properties are all occupied by Somalians and Ethiopians. Every utility is illegally connected from water to electricity. The houses have been illegally extended to accommodate a tuck shop, laundry facility and a egg business. City of Tshwane

This is a trading market that was built by the City of Tshwane and was intended to be used by vendors and traders in the Bronkhorstspruit CBD. It was abandoned for years instead of benefiting small businesses. We are reclaiming it as part of our CBD Tshwane Economic Revitalisation Strategy. City of Tshwane

Residents of Tshwane, this afternoon the Tshwane Metro Police Department’s Drug Unit arrested a 22-year-old Nigerian national who was caught with drugs worth R250,000 in Olievenhoutbosch. This man is based in Johannesburg but he was arrested in Tshwane because of the work done by TMPD’s Drug Unit. In past few weeks, we’ve showcased the work performed by TMPD’s Drug Unit across the city. We are dedicated to supporting their work. Our society should take a targeted approach to protecting citizens from drug trafficking. City of Tshwane

Residents of Tshwane, we are back in Sunnyside this evening for a by-law enforcement operation. We are at the street that houses the popular nightspot House 22. That club and many other businesses here have been served with eviction notices by the City of Tshwane. These businesses don’t have valid permits and many are none complaint. We were here a few months back and some of those we closed managed to reopen. We are closing them down again. City of Tshwane

Our last location for Tshwane Ya Tima was in Arcadia Street. This property owes the City R2.1 million. They’ve also managed to illegally connect their neighbours. We’ve removed a well designed illegal electricity network. City of Tshwane

Strengthening law enforcement: Today, we conducted an oversight visit to the City’s pound in the Pretoria CBD. Dozens of vehicles are brought in here everyday by the Tshwane Metro Police Department after they’ve been towed away from public roads for various reasons. The pound is a central component of law enforcement in the city and how it functions matters. We are aware of the many complaints by citizens about insufficient parking in the city. While we find avenues to resolve these issues, encouraging lawful behaviour in public spaces remains a priority for this administration. City of Tshwane

We visited the Tshwane Fresh Produce Market this morning to observe its operations. The market has for years functioned on a poorly funded budget and there are many infrastructure challenges. We believe this predicament can be changed. We were joined by market management and a stakeholder at the market, IMASA. This market is a strategic city asset that must become profitable to benefit residents and the broader agriculture and agro-processing sectors. City of Tshwane Aaron Maluleka

We held a successful #TshwaneYaTima operation today chasing government debt owed to the City of Tshwane. We had job cards valued at over R45 million. We are owed over R2 billion by government departments (national and provincial). This campaign aims to raise revenue for the municipality. Without revenue we are unable to fund service delivery programmes. No one is above the law in Tshwane. City of Tshwane Aaron Maluleka

We have made a commitment to grow Tshwane’s economy by 3.9% by 2029. This will not happen if we do not take decisive steps to create a conducive environment for businesses to thrive. We will be utilizing our own strategic resources such as the Tshwane Events Centre (Showgrounds) to the benefit of businesses and residents in the city. City of Tshwane
