@pentameruspress sounds nice in theory, but you’re basically describing running your own quant fund + research pipeline

@pentameruspress Every half decent hedge fund is already doing this, but you can’t call it “entirely on AI” since it’s ultimately the discretionary PM actually generates returns. This is just automation of the analyst layer with a research pipeline, which is great but not at all revolutionary

@pentameruspress This is cool, eventually AI does all the research but will it be able to time the market and make money? I do think the AI systems lack real-time market data that isn't already factored into the asset price

@pentameruspress The arrival of something like this was inevitable, but this is too early.

If what he is describing is accurate, I don’t see the landscape changing in hedge funds as much as I do in corporate finance in general. The key part is that they train the AI agents to do a specific job or task. People misinterpret AI because they think any AI can solve a question without being taught. When you apply this to entry-level financial analyst positions, you get much more productivity and you give middle managers the ability to get specifics with the research and models they receive from their analysts.

@pentameruspress How do I get under the hood to check this out? I'm a PM at family office and have looked deeply at a bunch of different AI native systems. Would love to see what you've built.

@pentameruspress Research part is definitely going to be obsolete but still descion making is the main question . Would you allow a agent to fo trading , if yes I’m very much interested in PnL and sharp ratio
