The Ruto regime had a choice of taking austerity measures, cutting waste and corruption, reducing levies and other measures to cushion Kenyans from the historical 24.5 % increase in fuel prices. Instead, it chose to allocate 8 million a day for the Deputy President’s helicopter services and 17.2 million a day on tea and mandazi for State House, while ordinary Kenyans suffer.
