We can't fix the housing crisis in Canada without understanding how it was created. Pierre Poilievre is quick to point out the problem, but his "solutions" are to do more of what we've been doing for the last thirty years that caused the problem in the first place.

Unbridled market economics caused the housing crisis and won't be able to fix it on their own. Non-market housing – including affordable, social, non-profit and cooperative housing – is required to relieve the crisis.

Correct. Building core infrastructure (housing) shouldn't be totally privatized as it was in the 90's. Poilievre is just selling the cause of the crisis as the cure as his rich developer backers have told him to do.

Dan, you should listen to what you said. The NDP hatred of the conservatives is affecting the way you thing. At one point you claim it was the Harper government who cut housing but 30 seconds before you specifically said it happened under the Libs in 1995 and here you are supporting the Libs. 🤷‍♂️

You misunderstand. I came from S’pore. Govt housing there works because bureaucracy is very efficient. If a civil servant fails in his job, he is fired. In Canada, we have bloated bureaucracy in all 3 levels of govt. I wouldn’t trust them to build ANY housing.

@PureShakti Go back even further, there was a ton me where CMHC's predecessor actually built the houses, and was a property manager(post-war). If a Crown Corp could do it then, it could do it now. I hope to see this in the next platform.

Excuse me Daniel but I vigorously disagree w ur comment. @PierrePoilievre has been my MP for 19 years and I can assure you Pierre has never ever had a “solution “ about anything… NEVER!!

Why is Calgary cheaper than Toronto? Because rent control doesn't work but building housing does. Allow people and/or govt to build the housing people need

Well said.👍👍 And what the Ontario Conservative government is doing right now, in addition to building on the Green Belt, is not going to help the housing issue, but rather primarily create profits to contractors building homes for the wealthiest.😡
