The actress Dame Penelope Keith, who starred in television sitcoms The Good Life and To the Manor Born, has died at the age of 86. Her family said she had died peacefully, while living with cancer, at her longtime home in Surrey. She won a BAFTA for her role as the snobbish surburbanite Margo Leadbetter in The Good Life which became one of the defining comedy series of the 1970s.

Overwhelmed by the high prices and her financial woes, she dramatically lies down on the store floor to cope. Shyanne scolds her ("There are no victims in Bloomingdale's!") but eventually uses her employee discount to buy a fancy stroller. Later, outside in the mall parking lot, they spot Margo's married English professor (and baby daddy) Mark with his family. Margo confronts him in a heated, emotional exchange, calling him out on his silence, lies, and abandonment while he ogles Shyanne.
