Almost five years ago, one of our bright beneficiaries, David, lost his mother after she travelled to the Upper East Region to seek medical treatment. He became an orphan. In the midst of that tragedy, he left Accra and disappeared from our scholarship programme. We did everything we could to bring him back. We had even identified a loving family that was ready to take him in so he could continue his education through our Student Training and Education Programme (STEP), but his family was not ready to let him return. We never gave up. In 2024, we heard that David had returned to Accra, so we travelled to Kasoa to look for him. We were relieved to find him, but his family was not forthcoming, making it difficult for us to stay in touch. Sadly, by the time we returned, he had been taken back to the Upper East Region. Then, just recently, we received the phone call we had been praying for. One of David’s cousins had brought him back after learning that he was being mistreated. At just 13 years old, David had been out of school for years and was being made to work on farms instead. Today, David is finally back. He may be behind in school, but he is not behind in potential. We are determined to help him catch up, heal, and build the future he deserves. As we prepare to support David’s return to school, he will need school fees, uniforms, books, stationery, personal items, counselling, and the care every child deserves to thrive. How anyone could think this treatment of a little dog was acceptable is beyond us 😡 We immediately contacted An Garda Síochána Limerick and drove over three hours to meet them. We want to sincerely thank Sergeant Dave and his team, their compassion and willingness to help were absolutely incredible. This little guy is now safe. We can’t say more at this time, but this innocent baby pug boy will never have to endure such cruelty again. He had simply existed… cold, wet most days, and freezing at night. Unfortunately, I am sharing very sad news. Buster has been sick since September. We knew we had little time left with him, but were hoping we would not lose him this soon. He's always been a tough dog, so he hasn't seemed too sick. He has been pretty good lately, but yesterday he took a turn, and we had to say goodbye to him in the middle of the night. How do you say goodbye to your souldog? We don't know how, we may never know. But one thing we do know. Buster was the happiest as long as he was with us, and we were the same with him. We made the decision several years ago, wherever we travel, he's coming with us. He had a great life with lots of good treats and sniffs. I always told Buster daily, he is an angel sent from heaven. He's up there running free without pain watching over us now. Our hearts are broken.💔

Unable to use his hind legs, he was forced to drag his body across the ground just to survive. The constant scraping has left him with painful wounds, and every single day was a struggle filled with pain, hunger, and helplessness. Today, that suffering ends. He is finally safe with us and will now receive the medical care, treatment, and love he has been denied for so long. We were on the motorway… My whole family was visiting from the UK, and we were on our way to drop someone at the airport. The car was full of luggage… and in the middle of fast-moving traffic, we suddenly saw two dogs… on the narrow middle strip where cars rush past at terrifying speed. One of them was sitting there… completely still… silent… heartbreakingly sad. We drove ahead, found a way back, and returned to them. And what we saw… was not just a scene — it was a story that broke something inside me. He was not alone. He was sitting beside his partner… who had already passed away. Her body had turned stiff… God knows how long she had been lying there… and he… had not left her side. Cars were speeding past just inches from him… but he did not move. Not for fear. Not for his life. We carefully moved her body to a safer place… because we knew if we left her there, he would stay… and lose his life too. But our car was full… we had no equipment to bury her, no rescue setup with us that day… and our shelter was nearly three hours away. We had to leave. But my heart stayed behind with him. The next day… we had to go to the airport again… and deep down, I prayed we wouldn’t see him there. But he was. 36 hours had passed… and he was still there. Same place. Same sadness. Same empty eyes. No food. No water. Just sitting beside her… What kind of loyalty is this? We called our team immediately. It was Eid… they were on leave… but they left everything and came. Three hours of travel… just for one life. But when they tried to rescue him… he ran away. Because we humans have only taught them pain. We have never shown them that we can love too. We buried his partner there… at least she left this world with dignity. And he… disappeared into the fields… with a broken heart. And one question stayed with me… We call ourselves the most superior of creation… but are we? Or is it him… who refused to leave, even after death? Maybe… we are not who we think we are 💔

Thankfully, our incredible volunteer MLHR Lauren showed patience and kindness, slowly gaining his trust until she was finally able to bring him to safety. He’s only 5 months old. Emaciated. Covered in mange. Frightened of the world around him. 💔 And as if that wasn’t enough… a cable had been tied tightly around his tiny neck. The pain and cruelty this little boy has endured is unimaginable. We are beyond heartbroken and angry. No animal should ever have to suffer like this. 😡💔 An Garda Síochána Dublin Garda Info are now investigating, and we want justice for this innocent soul. Right now, he needs urgent care, treatment, and the chance to finally feel safe and loved. Thank you Raheny Vets for being so kind ❤️ Please donate if you can. We’ve seen a lot of dogs in bad conditions but I think this lovely boy might be the worst pain I’ve ever seen a dog in. We’d been told about him by a kind man in the community who found him but had no idea how to help beyond giving him water, food and putting a little electric fan on him. He eventually got through to us in sheer desperation. The dog has been there for days apparently and probably hit by some sort of major trauma. He hasn’t eaten or drank his water and he was laying in his own pee and poop. That little alley way was where it was all going to end very soon because I could see from his gums and other signs he was in big big trouble. We had to just go for it and make a stretcher with what we had and push through the pain. It took us 40 minutes to get back to Tina’s hospital and he screamed at every tiny bump on the road. I thought his spine was broken and was super relieved when it wasn’t. I thought he might be so bad that we’d never be posting this video as it might be better to put him out of his misery. He is very sick and has some stuff going on internally but it is pelvis related we believe. He is by no means 100% going to make it as he has so much going on inside him but we have some hope now. The team are in full action mode to try and save him. I called him Bear as he is a big fluffy gentle giant I can tell. I’m not sure how this story ends but it’s already better than he was alone in that alley this morning. He’s having a huge sleep now with lots of pain relief and meds. 🤞🤞🤞

#WATCH | Delhi | The deceased's friend says, "... I had talked to him last night when he had reached the District Centre. He was just 15 minutes from home... An hour later, when he didn't reach home, we came to the District Centre. He wasn't picking up our calls. His bike was nowhere to be seen. When we went to the police station to file a complaint, we were told that our complaint would not be registered before 11 am... The police helped us find the location of my friend and asked us to look for him in a 200-metre radius here. 7 people were searching for him from midnight to 7 am, but we could not find him. At 1 am, when we checked the pit, he was not there. We were on this road all the time, but we don't understand how he ended up here after we checked. When we went back home at 7 am, we received a call from my friend's phone, and the police informed us that he was here in the pit. Why could his phone not be traced by the police at night? We suspect he was killed... What must his parents be going through... We still haven't informed his mother... He was 25 years old and worked at the HDFC Bank call centre in Rohini Sector 10... Police have been deployed, and barricades have been set up around the pit now. Why couldn't they do it earlier? My friend could have been saved..."

Buster Gets His Happy Ending 🥹🐶🥰🙏 Buster was on a chain for years on cold concrete. We were told it was because he was vicious and dangerous. It turns out he was the complete opposite. He only knew love and his fav thing to do was sniff the flowers. The first part of his long recovery was his health… 👂 He had to have an ear removed as it had been left for so long 🫁 He could hardly walk 10 yards as he was so unfit. We were able to build his stamina up 🧫 He had a bad fungal infection all over. It took lots of care and bathing to fix 🥴 Buster started having epileptic fits. It was vital he had an owner who could help him with his medicine and care. He found that owner in Kitty who came all the way to visit him. To say they fell in love would be an understatement. She takes him on hikes, he goes to work with her as a tennis coach and every video I see he is sleeping in her bed with a big stuffed toy. Although his medical history is complicated he is well looked after now and proves that you should never give up in life. There is always hope. I’ve never met a friendlier or more gentle dog in my whole life than Buster. He deserves this. Well done to Buster and Kitty 🥰🙏

WHAT IS WRONG WITH HUMANS 💔💔💔😡😡 This poor boy spent four years alone in a backyard. Fed and watered, yes, but with almost no human contact, no love, no life. That’s no life for any dog. It’s no life for anyone. He was a prisoner in his own yard. 😡 When we heard about him, we worked hard to get him out of that situation, because every animal deserves more than just existing. Right now he’s very scared. The outside world is completely new and frightening to him. But we’re going to show him patience, kindness, and love and help him discover what life really is. We can’t wait for the day when he finally feels safe… when his tail starts wagging and he learns what it means to be loved. ❤️ Please support us. RIP Bradley Cooper 💔💔💔💔 Today, we said our goodbyes to a truly sweet gentleman, an old soul with so much love to give. Bradley came to us diagnosed with cancer, along with his best friend Bobby, the St. Bernard. While Bobby was young and found his forever home, poor Bradley needed palliative care. Thanks to his angel, MLHR Laura, Bradley spent his final days surrounded by love. Sadly, his illness progressed quickly. This morning, weak and in pain, he was given pain relief by the vet and was able to spend his last moments at his favorite place, the beach. Sand on his paws, sun on his face, and surrounded by kindness 💔💔 Bradley experienced joy and so much love ❤️ Bradley never received the care he deserved before coming to us. His previous owner neglected him, letting him and Bobby suffer, something that makes our hearts ache and our anger rise 😡 If only he had cared for Bradley as he should have, perhaps Bradley would still be with us today. But today was about Bradley. Today was about love. Today was about making his last day beautiful, full of comfort, happiness, and dignity. Mr. Bradley Cooper, you were never just a dog, you were a cuddle monster, a legend, and a beloved member of the MLHR family ❤️ We will love you forever. We are so sorry this world let you down, but we are so grateful for the time we had with you, and for the joy and love you brought into our lives. Rest in peace, sweet Bradley Cooper. 💔💔💔 HEARTBREAKING FOR A BABY 💔💔💔 Just 2 weeks old and ripped away from his mum in Limerick 😡💔 We managed to save him, but sadly we couldn’t save his mother 💔 Driving away while he cried out, scared and confused, was absolutely devastating. We know the story we were told wasn’t true. No foal should ever have to go through this. Wrong colour. Wrong sex. His mum will simply be bred again 😡😡 How can this still be happening? Until laws are enforced and real consequences exist for cruelty, innocent animals will continue to suffer. Today was horrific. Across this country, so many babies were torn from their mothers because cruel people decided they had “no value.” 💔😡 We will not stop fighting for them, but we desperately need support to keep going.
