TJ is doing well this morning. Heโ€™s having fluids every 4 hours day and night. Medication and lots of love. He spent the first 4 years of his life, alone, in a tiny cage, neglected and suffering. He needs major surgeries on his eyes but is currently not fit for surgery. Our job right now is to love him, support him and try to get him healthy enough to undergo the surgeries needed to give him quality of life. Please share TJs story far and wide. Garda Kate moved fast, she has horse experience and was eventually able to get the poor thing up of the ground, he was totally exhausted and struggled to walk. We arrived and he was very lethargic but moving so we called our vet making sure heโ€™d be ready once we got him loaded. When waiting on transport we discovered this is the horse in the video on the trap with a child on the drivers lap that was ridden into the riots at City West last week ๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก The poor soul has severe cuts on his legs from Ill fitted straps and sores on his mouth from the bit. No wonder he was weak ๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ’” Gardaรญ are now investigating. He is 8 years old, turning 9 soon. Unschooling (homeschooling) is a very very wide subject for me to talk about. For me- itโ€™s NOT about โ€˜educationโ€™, itโ€™s a way of life. But we have evolved in this journey as a family. Lot of our fears come up and we keep working with it. What is his schedule? Well, he designs his schedule. We, as a family, discuss and try to build something that works for all of us. What is his curriculum? Everything that interests him is his curriculum. Who teaches him? To be honest till last year we didnโ€™t need anyone. Basic stuff in life, every real life experience was teaching him. But now as he has grown, he has specific and detailed interests- so if any one of us knows, then we otherwise we find someone who is passionate about his interest areas. If no one is teaching him, there is no curriculum and he doesnโ€™t have a โ€˜fixedโ€™ schedule - then how does he learn? What is the role of a parent in his life? Well, thatโ€™s a valid question. Our role is to facilitate his journey. Bring reflection to him so that he thinks for himself. Bring exposure so that he chooses. Have conflict with him as we canโ€™t be aligned with him in every way and still keep loving himโ€ฆ โค๏ธ๐Ÿ˜Š Yes, for me- this path is not easy at all as it brings lot of my fears on the surface and I constantly have to work harder on myself. But believe me, this is the best decision we could have taken as a family. Believe me, every discomfort is worth it !!!!!
