They stopped, put him in their car and brought him straight to us๐Ÿ’”โค๏ธ He had been dumped in a ditch, his bed dumped there beside him. Thanks to the incredible locals who found where he was hiding and alerted us, we were able to get to him.โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’” He was absolutely emaciated, covered in dry, damaged skin and shaking uncontrollably. ๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ’” His leg was badly broken. He was so weak and frail that we had to carry him through the fields๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ’” With the help of our dogs, he finally trusted us enough to come out. We brought him straight to Village Vets Ashbourne, who took him in immediately and have cared for him amazingly โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ Today, after X-rays and consultations, we got the devastating news that Liam's leg cannot be saved. He needs an amputation tomorrow. ๐Ÿ’” This poor boy has already suffered so much. TJ is doing well this morning. Heโ€™s having fluids every 4 hours day and night. Medication and lots of love. He spent the first 4 years of his life, alone, in a tiny cage, neglected and suffering. He needs major surgeries on his eyes but is currently not fit for surgery. Our job right now is to love him, support him and try to get him healthy enough to undergo the surgeries needed to give him quality of life. Please share TJs story far and wide. POOR HORSE ๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ’”โ€ฆ.ONE OF THE RIOT HORSES ๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ’” Today we had a call from An Garda Sรญochรกna Tallaght, this poor horse was lying on the ground and could not get up, suspected colic. Garda Kate moved fast, she has horse experience and was eventually able to get the poor thing up of the ground, he was totally exhausted and struggled to walk. We arrived and he was very lethargic but moving so we called our vet making sure heโ€™d be ready once we got him loaded. When waiting on transport we discovered this is the horse in the video on the trap with a child on the drivers lap that was ridden into the riots at City West last week ๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก The poor soul has severe cuts on his legs from Ill fitted straps and sores on his mouth from the bit. With patience and care, we managed to safely get him into our horse box so we could relocate him somewhere safe, green, peaceful, and home to other deer. The community response was incredible. Only a few months ago, little Dave was found outside a house, abandoned in the hail, rain, and snow.
