We did it. We finally did it. Infinite memory. Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman: “We have prototypes that have near-infinite memory. And so it just doesn’t forget, which is truly transformative. (...) 2025 is going to be truly transformative” Eric Schmidt (Ex-Google CEO) wasn't lying when he said infinite... show more

Is he literally saying AGI will be achieved in 2025?

Sounds to me

Forgetting things is a fundamental function of efficiency. It as feature not a bug in humans. It will not be different for synthetics. Physical storage cannot be infinite. Memory cannot either.

Seems like we just keep winning these days.

We won big this time

This isn’t going to be the panacea you think it is. Gemini has a 2m context window but can’t effectively reason over the window. It’s not enough that the model can tell you what’s in the context, it needs to be able to leverage the context effectively when answering questions / performing tasks.

&& isn't this old news

Would be interesting to understand if this means infinite context window or just fancy rag

I wonder if it has to do with kernel memory:

that’s cool and all but for some reason i can’t stand that guy and don’t trust him at all
