We didn’t realise how good we had it.

Back when normality meant normality, when the glow of the orange street lights meant its home time. When all you had in your pocket was a stone you thought looked cool. When you didn't have to look over your shoulder & could go for a walk at any point in the night. When the biggest threat was your neighbours garden looking better than your own. Simplicity was and will always be the best.

And we’ll never get it back 😔

👍Mine in the 40's and 50's was even better! Even more freedom, better education, better social standards. As to homophobia, was there, but didn't seem to affect my cousin Dennis and his partner Bill much, who lived openly together running an off licence in a small W. Yorks town.
