We export cocoa but import chocolate. We export bauxite but import aluminium products. This cycle must end! We are taking decisive steps to end it.

@Truthndc14 You be too much . Always taking the bold decision for the nation to thrive . You be guy rough 😍

This is all facts, that’s money Ghana’s losing every year by not processing its own resources. Naming the problem is easy. What matters now is the actual plan to fix it decisive steps are being taken to end it all

The best Finance minister. The next President to continue the great vision of President Mahama. Great leaders don’t need introduction, their lights shine for all to see.

@brownsauce4u This will be the best Finance Minister that after his tenure of office we will still miss him not those who run away and tried to seek asylum because of accountability 🙌

Capture the value before you export the story. 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿. The current NDC government is slowly becoming the greatest government ever in the history of Ghana.

The most effective and efficient appointee of President @JDMahama If we will retain our 2/3 majority, we need Hon @Cassielforson as prime minister or Chief of Staff and flag bearer for the remaining 2 years. I have said it. If you are not happy go and burn the sea.

It must end and put all the benefits back to Ghana

@Bridget_Otoo active you develop the country you developed the Youth of Ghana🇬🇭 may this come to pass

This is exactly what we pray for Ghana to become. Please kindly put more effort to end this. Thank you for being committed to the task.

If all these come to pass, together with this government going the extra mile to continue and fix some of the things done by the previous government, I believe your administration will give Ghanaians more reasons to make the past administration stay in opposition

Imagine he becomes president for 8years , Ghana will be beautiful 😻

May this come to pass. It has been long overdue

Very good, Hon. Minister! It's been long overdue.

value addition dier Class 5 Citizenship education oo, do am make we see, we taya the lip service.

The obstacles will be overwhelming but you have it in you to turn things around and I pray you succeed!

And also, we import over 3 Billion dollars worth of food from outside. I am hoping that we can subject our lands to food production, where necessary. Egypt has more farm lands and larger cultivated areas than Ghana, taking into consideration all the suitable factors for agricultu

The diagnosis is right, it's the exact reason Ghana's GDP hasn't matched its resource wealth for decades. Raw export, value-add elsewhere, we buy back the finished product at a markup. Every finance minister says "this cycle must end" though the real story will be whether actual processing plants get built this time, not just another speech about it

Pretty good news for such a long time. The time is now.well done ✔️

We train nurses and doctors but politicians go to hospitals abroad. This circle must end. Forget not to take decisive steps to end it.

Good initiative in a right direction, I pray it will come to realization to create job avenues for us all 🙏🙏

've b hearing this since i was in class 2 but nothing has been done since. Hopefully we finally see real action which would impact the lives of the citizens too

Ohh settings nkoaa, every government says this and they still leave without any factories, hospitals or proper roads. They are just toying with the average citizen. It’s been 38 years of power between NPP and NDC. Twins that loot at the expense of the people. Election tactics

I learnt this in JHS back in the early 2000s in our social studies book. Primary, seconday and tertiary products. After more than 20 years, the cycle must end? Ghanaian politicians are puppets and slaves to the west. Democracy is shit and will continue to be a piece of shit.

We don’t need the long talk. Just work. Europe has no resources done us but see how they are developed. You guys have the chance to work. Just show working!!!

My President for 2028

Ghana’s future is truly bright with these guys in charge

I believe this. This is the first step to true, untethered independence and sovereignty of African states, and Ghana as always, takes on earlier

Keep this governance issues at this rate and you'll be the president eventually... Decision making that comes from a true leader who thinks as if he's speaking for the well-being of his immediate family...I really thought the previous government's behavior was all Ghana could do.

@Bridget_Otoo Every good Ghanaian who wishes to see Ghana become better would pray that this vision becomes a reality. But Mr. Hon, we sincerely hope that this will not remain just words or promises, but that it will translate into concrete actions and fulfilled commitments…??

wow, bravo we’re putting seeds in our soil now 👏

Future president 😎

@kwame_H1 If finance minister you act by your words err I will devote my life to campaign for you till you become president of Ghana!!

We’ve been hearing this rhetoric for years. The real question is: what have successive governments actually done to build a competitive local chocolate industry? At some point, we need less rhetoric and more action.

No gyimi gyimi laughter ooo. Straight business. Go for Gold Minister

The line is true as a slogan and empty as a record. Ghana already has about 505,000 tonnes of grind capacity. Plants have been running well under that because beans did not reach the factories. CPC was around 20 percent of capacity in late 2025. Most of what we due process is liquor, butter and powder — not chocolate bars in Accra. On bauxite the record is worse. We still export the ore and import alumina. VALCO is shrinking under this government. The “decisive step” is a team to give an investor equity in a dying smelter. Meanwhile Ghana–China trade hit $14.1 billion in 2025 with a merchandise gap of about $7.85 billion: we send commodities, they send manufactures. Asking Beijing to process here is not breaking the cycle. It is putting a Ghanaian plaque on the same cycle. Gold is the commodity you actually monopolised. GoldBod, the tax taken off unprocessed minerals, billions bought, dollars sold to banks. That is not chocolate. That is not aluminium. Naming the trap is not ending it.
