When you’re camping and smell something burning what would you do? We were smelling random gusts of a burning plastic but figured it was other campers on the lake. Then my sister noticed smoke smoldering from this tree root. No clue how it started, but it was a windy day and root fires can fester a for weeks to months. Thankful we caught this when we did and grateful for all the hands on deck. In this case we had no service but if you come across a root fire, call 310-fire or 911. Dig it up, douse it, monitor & report it.

This guy gives us an update on the tree he burned down instead of using a chainsaw. He said he didn’t use a chainsaw because it was dead and hollow inside and he was worried about it crumbling down on top of him. He said in regard to the worry about root fire, he said so far there is no root fire and they picked that weekend because it had rained there for three days and the ground was super saturated and he said there was little to no wind. He also said there were no gas lines, no utility lines and he said the closest neighbor is like 200 yards away. Still some are saying it doesn’t matter if the ground above was saturated with water and that roof fire can manifest itself days, even weeks later. Seems like a lot more planning went into burning the tree down and it wasn’t just some random idea. Do you think it mattered if it rained for three days in regards to root fire? Did you know root fire can pop up days, even weeks later after the original burn?

hyunjin talking about his vacation in iceland! 🥟: i recently went to iceland and it was really great! i highly recommend iceland. driving for 8 hours a day, there were moments like that but i managed to go all the way around. iceland is about the same size as korea, it's like going from seoul to busan and back. it was wonderful. 🥟: on the first day, it felt like autumn. on the second day, it was really warm like summer. on the third and fourth day, there was snowstorm and the car stopped. i felt like i was in winter but no buildings around, all surrounded by mountains and snow. it felt like paradise. seeing it right in front of my eyes, i didn't want to wear sunglasses. so i was really happy!

Back in Brecksville living with my brother in a house we both bought, we had an apple tree in the backyard that we were too busy to keep up on. I admit I was pulling long hours at the insurance company and he was gone on developers trips all the time. The fruit and the leaves would fall and sometimes land in the neighbors driveway. For the longest time they never said anything about it, they even picked our apples and ate them, I never said anything about that because to be honest I never cared. One day I was on a phone call with a client and I was walking to the backyard and saw a few half eaten apples and apple cores littering the patio area by my garage. I assumed the neighbor ate it and threw it over. As the days passed I saw more and more apples scattered all over my yard. They even but a big branch of my tree off that was beginning to go over the fence. One day while in the garage I saw firsthand they were throwing apples over the fence. I walked by the fence and saw they were trying to spray something around my tree. The tree is literally right next to the fence, it almost touched it. A few days later the leaves looked burnt and even some of the grass by the tree was dying as well. I suspected they were trying to spray some sort of plant killer to kill my tree. I then walked over to them and asked what was going on, they claimed their daughter was visiting and one of the apples fell and dented her car, and they wanted me to address my fruit falling onto their property. The weird thing about the whole thing is I never heard anything about this nor did they ever ask me to pay for the damages. My friends and I ended up getting a latter and trimming most of the branches close to the fence. I did see them reach over on occasion to steal apples but I never really had an issue with them from that point on. I also never offered to pay for the damage because I wasn’t convinced it even happened, I would think if it did I would have heard about it when it happened.

storytime with kai #1 ⭐️ 🐧 this one time…when we were doing the jacket shoot for ‘deja vu’…what was the name again? the concept where i’m wearing a headband, we filmed it outdoors…the one with the rockband vibes 🐧 we filmed it outdoors and we filmed it in january so it was really cold and since we kept moving, sweating and running…the way i remember it, we had a 3 day break after that shoot; i’m not kidding when i say that i was in bed for 3 days straight because i had a cold 🐧 it was really rough so i texted soobin hyung and was like “soobin hyung, please save me” so soobin hyung came to my room and gave me cold medicine and really helped me a lot…the cold medicine that soobin hyung gave me had an instant effect so it really helped a lot 🐧 at the time, we had 3 days off but i was really sick right from day 1 because i caught a cold…and it was snowing! it was actually snowing and i went to the convenience store for a bit because i needed to eat so i went to the convenience store to buy food and i was walking back like this with the food in my hand while getting hit by the snow so it really looked like a movie scene 🐧 it was a good memory…i already had a cold and i was sick but it got worse because i went out in the snow

Waterloo Fire Chief Travis Harlow provides an update on the situation at Two Rivers State Park. Following the storms that rolled through, Waterloo Fire was dispatched to an injury accident with a party pinned by a tree on a vehicle. Upon arrival, two parties were located in the vehicle. One party was declared code 4 (deceased) on scene. The second party was pinned inside the vehicle with a large tree laying across it. Valley Fire, Yutan Fire, Omaha Fire and Dr. Ernest (EMS Medical Director) also assisted at the scene. Excavators and Arrow Towing were called in to help with lifting the tree off the vehicle. There was a prolonged extrication, taking approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes, the patient was transported to the Nebraska Medical Center Code 3 Trauma.
