It is highly unfortunate for Kashmiri Muslims that their scholars are discussing petty issues like HALWA. Afsoos. How will Kashmiri progenies prosper? What about their eiman and islam? It is similar to (history;) christian scholars of Constantinople when it fell under Muslims.

Sahih al-Bukhari 5614** (Book of Drinks, chapter on drinking sweet things and honey): “The Prophet (ﷺ) used to like sweet edible things and honey.” Sahih al-Bukhari 5682** (Book of Medicine) Jamiʿ at-Tirmidhi 1831* (graded *ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ gharīb) Sunan Ibn Mājah 3323**

The authentic reports confirm the Prophet (ﷺ) liked sweet things and honey. The word halwāʾ in these hadiths means sweet foods broadly, not the specific South Asian halwa dish.
