Dandora isn't supposed to be a dumping site remove it from there it's an environmental hazard n it's a danger to the residents around it... Shame we don't value our own people, n see it fit to make a city neighborhood a whole dumping site for all manner of toxic waste. Very sad!

This is our capital city, and we must restore both order and dignity. While earning a living, ensure that you do not expose your customers to unhygienic food and potential health risks.

The City of Tshwane mayoral committee took a decisive action against Iphintombi Sports Bar are Pretoria CBD due to persistent lawlessness and disregard for municipal regulations, including outstanding debts for waste services. As a result, the establishment is being closed down with immediate effect. We will not tolerate non-compliance and we will ensure that our laws are enforced. The City of Tshwane remains committed to maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for all residents and visitors . We will monitor the situation until there’s a full compliance . Just for the record is 14:00 🕑 P.M .

Today, during the council meeting, we presented a draft budget for 2025/26 that will be fully funded and not backed by bank loans. This budget will benefit the residents of Tshwane as funds will be bolstered to improve service delivery. For the first time in years, the City will procure its own waste trucks and increase funding for the filling of key vacancies. We made a promise to residents of this Capital city when we took office, and we have kept that promise. The budget will be implemented from 1 July 2025, following extensive public consultations. Earlier today, we received a report that a woman identified as Mrs. McCarthy, of No. 56 Adaranijo Street, Pedro, Shomolu, allegedly encouraged her child to dispose of refuse into a covered drainage channel. Following the report, our enforcement officers promptly carried out an investigation, which led to her arrest for violating the State’s environmental laws. We expect every resident to act responsibly and to educate their children on the importance of protecting public infrastructure, particularly drainage systems. Encouraging acts that contribute to blocked drains and environmental degradation is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. A clean, safe, and flood-resilient environment is a shared responsibility. We urge all residents to dispose of waste properly and support the collective effort to keep Lagos clean. #ZeroToleranceLagos

Last night, we conducted a mega CBD cleanup exercise, covering all streets. However, illegal dumping remains a major challenge, with some business communities, hawkers, and matatu operators using street families to dispose of waste improperly. I urge all businesses, hawkers, and matatu operators to take full responsibility for the garbage they generate by disposing of it at designated holding points. If they do not wish for the county to manage its transfer to the Dandora dumpsite, they can register with private service providers for doorstep collection. Maintaining a clean city is a shared responsibility. If we all embrace change and manage waste responsibly from source to final disposal we can achieve a cleaner, healthier environment for everyone.
