Last week at NASA's Johnson Space Center I participated in part 1 of a 2 part glovebox test assessing different spacesuit pressures and how they might affect our dexterity and ability to accomplish tasks on the Moon for future NASA Artemis missions. This was a blind test, so I didn’t know if this was the pressure that I’m used to from my experience in the spacesuit (4.3 psi) or a higher pressure …. felt pretty similar to me but we’ll see how it compares to tomorrow’s test!

Space Perspective has successfully completed a historic flight demonstration of Spaceship Neptune-Excelsior, the fully-operational test vehicle that will take Explorers to space. Around sunrise on Sunday, it launched from the deck of Marine Spaceport (MS) Voyager, propelled by our SpaceBalloon™ to ~100,000 feet (~30 km). Over the course of several hours, our engineering teams monitored and controlled the capsule, eventually bringing it down through a controlled descent and splashdown. This flight tested a multitude of systems, including launch & ascent through our patented launch system aboard MS Voyager, cabin pressure and stability at peak altitude aboard the capsule, our Environmental Control and Life Support systems, and all aspects of our SpaceBalloon™, including the material performance and our patent pending venting mechanisms. We also tested capsule communications with Mission Control and Voyager. While these are just a few of the many complex systems, the entire flight profile was successfully executed and all systems operated nominally. The data received will be analyzed and applied to future flights and iterations of the capsule as we prepare for additional uncrewed flights, and crewed test flights in the future. #spaceperspective #overvieweffect #space #milestone #launch #engineering #design #safety #luxury #travel #innovation

Haven Demo build and test are complete, and it is now undergoing final integration for launch. Meanwhile, we’re moving toward critical systems testing and continuing to build momentum on Haven-1 flight hardware. Haven-1’s primary structure qualification article has successfully completed its test campaign at our Mojave, CA facility, while the flight structure has been fully welded and is being prepared for pressure testing. Designed, manufactured, and tested in-house in the 🇺🇸.

E-2 has successfully demonstrated a full mission duty cycle with margin, completing a 201 sec run at our Mojave, CA test site. Multiple 200+ sec test fires have now been completed, proving performance and reliability across engine builds. As the highest performance LOX/kerosene engine in the small launch class, E-2 is designed to maximize your payload capacity and unlock more value from every mission to orbit.

November was a busy month across Terran R test campaigns. 🛢️ Second stage tank successfully completed acceptance testing with 30+ load cases, including pressure proofing and flight-load simulations. 💨 Transonic and supersonic wind tunnel testing wrapped with 100+ runs of the first stage entry configuration. 🔥 Aeon V dev engine test campaign completed; Aeon R flight engine acceptance testing progressing at NASA Stennis. 🌡️ Hot gas testing executed on the stage press valve to validate performance under extreme thermal transients.

E-2’s first 90-second test fire was a success! It performed at 55% power with a low conservative 1.6 mixture ratio as planned. The hardware appears in perfect condition ready for more tests. This is an exceptional result for a first test article (E-2 SN1). The test was also a key milestone for our US Space Force TACFI contract. We’ve wrapped up this test campaign and will be back in January with an updated injector featuring lower LOX passage pressure drop to allow us to increase the LOX mass flow and in turn reach full thrust and high performance O/F mixture ratio of 2.62. We thank our team and partners for making this possible - especially Stennis Space Center and their team. We would also like to thank the @SpaceForceDoD for their TACFI contract support.
