Starting this September, we’re sending elementary homeroom teachers across Ontario a $750 annual Classroom Supplies Card to help buy supplementary classroom supplies they need to help students succeed. We’ve sent a new survey to teachers across the province to hear from them about which supplies they would like to see available through this new fund. Find out more about how we’re investing in students:

I’m done with school boards that work outside of their mandate and refuse to make the right decisions to support students and teachers in the classroom.

While the government remains ready to bargain at any time, the teachers’ union has been at the table for 30 minutes in the last five months. Students and teachers should be in the classroom. The teachers’ union should be at the bargaining table. Today in the Assembly, Education Minister Jeremy Cockrill outlined what our government has done to try to reach a new contract that is fair to teachers and taxpayers.

For decades, teachers have spent their own money, and parents have been asked to pitch in, to help purchase materials for classrooms. Our government is changing that. Starting this September, every eligible elementary teacher will have direct access to $750 for classroom purchases. And that’s on top of the classroom supplies funding school boards continue to receive, about $32,000 a year for a typical 500-student elementary school. The bottom line: we’re putting more resources directly into the hands of teachers, so they have what they need to support students in the classroom.

Happy new school year to Kurdistan. I hope this year will be filled with achievements and joy for our students. I want to express my gratitude to the parents supporting their children in school and to the teachers for their dedication and nationalism.

🚨LoTT EXCLUSIVE🚨 Audio from inside PASD classroom reveals teacher telling students that President Trump is a child moIester. We are also told by sources that this same teacher regularly attempts to probe for students' political beliefs. This political activism and propaganda in the classroom is completely unacceptable! We reached out to the school for comment, but they did not respond.

We celebrated the one-year anniversary of our Adopt-A-School partnership with Harlem Park Elementary Middle School by renovating a new outdoor classroom! The funding for the classroom was made possible after the 2024 Orioles team voted to gift one playoff share to Harlem Park. Two weeks from today, the new provincial budget will deliver the largest ever increase in school operating funding and a record new commitment to address classroom size and complexity. Today, I am taking the unusual step of announcing part of the education budget prior to budget day, to clearly demonstrate our commitment to address teachers’ concerns around classroom supports. In light of these significant new commitments, I am asking the STF to pause their job action so that teachers and students can return to their classrooms, and the teachers’ union can return to the bargaining table.

This is the usual way a teacher talks to students in classroom when the teacher is mad at the student for whatever reason.

Florida students are getting a new lesson on the dangers of communism as an expanded curriculum makes its classroom debut this year. Danamarie McNicholl reports the new standards require students starting in sixth grade to study the Soviet Union, the Chinese Communist Revolution, and the regimes of Cuba, North Korea, and Venezuela, including lessons on how socialism can lead to a communist leader rising to power. The curriculum stems from legislation Gov. Ron DeSantis signed in 2024.

As the school year begins, let's join our hearts in a prayer for everyone in the education system. May teachers inspire, students learn, and parents find peace. Let knowledge flourish and kindness prevail in every hallway and classroom. Together, we embrace the journey ahead with prayer, hope and unity. #TDJOnline
