Are you serious? $50 for 15 mins of video export/month? Bro, fix your pricing before another dev swoops in on the hype and grabs customers. I myself am building a video editor (I'm a hobbyiest coder only) and I find that its not hard to build (with a Codex sub ofc.)

We unfortunately can't build a sustainable business on free software. We learned this the hard way at our last startup -@TeamDesklamp. There,. we built a note-making app for students, scaled it to tens of thousands of free users, and eventually had to shut it down when the funding ran out. This time, we’re doing things differently: new features launch as paid enterprise offerings first. Once they’ve gained adoption and can support themselves, we bring them to a broader audience through a freemium model. If you're building software, I'd highly recommend you to follow this approach too.

Recording the screen was never the hard part, handing the agent the editing and the zoom effects too is what actually saves the hours.

“We just killed…” No, you didn’t. Every time I read that phrase, I’m reminded how painfully unoriginal online writing has become.

Online writing is less about being original, but more about playing the algorithm. As is the case with most kinds of writing. One of my favorite quotes about writing is from Robert Kiyosaki (author of rich dad, poor dad) who once told an English professor that his goal was not to be a best-writing author, but rather a best-selling one.

I get your point, and I agree that distribution matters. Great writing that nobody sees doesn’t accomplish much. My point is that “writing for the algorithm” has become an excuse for everyone to use the same hooks, phrases, formats, and manufactured opinions. You can understand the algorithm without sounding like everyone else. I’d argue the people who do both, distribution + originality, are the ones who actually build something worth following.
