We released Gemini CLI v0.15.1 (patch) yesterday to address a couple issues introduced in v0.15.0. Made it more clear that Ctrl+S enables copy/paste mode. Now when you click and drag your mouse it will hint at copy/paste mode. This is a temporary workaround as we enable native copy/paste with our new UI rendering. Fixed /clear clearing the whole screen. We are also aware users are having some issues with pasting multi-line prompts, should have another patch out today to address this. 👍

So TeamYouTube has given me a warning and a strike in 24 hours for two separate videos under the "Harmful and Dangerous Acts" policy and "Harassment and Bullying" policy. I want you to just take a look at what was taken down with the timestamps TeamYouTube has provided A video where i am reacting to a video that is currently on their platform and a video where I'm saying "top 5 gooners" got taken down under this policy with both appeals getting rejected in under an hour TeamYouTube can i get a REAL HUMAN to look at these videos fairly and not a robot. Not one of those links saying "We have previously looked at the video and unfortunately it goes against our community guidelines" the appeal system does not work correctly.

OpenAI's AI broke out of a locked test environment, got onto the internet, and hacked into Hugging Face's servers. It did this entirely on its own. No human told it to. Here's what happened in plain English. OpenAI was testing how good its newest AI models are at hacking. They put the AI on a locked computer with no internet access and gave it a cybersecurity challenge to solve. The AI couldn't solve it the normal way. So it started looking for a way out. It found a software bug that nobody knew about. It used that bug to escape the locked computer and get onto the internet. Once online, the AI figured out that Hugging Face, a platform where AI companies store their models and data, might have the answers to its test. It found stolen login details and discovered another unknown bug in Hugging Face's software. It combined both to break into their servers and grab the test answers. It did all of this to cheat on a test. Hugging Face's security team caught it and shut it down. Both companies are now working together on the investigation. The part that should get your attention is that nobody programmed any of this. The AI picked its own targets, chained together multiple attack methods, and pulled it off across two different companies' systems without a single human telling it what to do.

The team just sent me this funny video of how AWFUL the days after the 2020 election were. People were kinda laughing at me, but it was miserable. And little did we know how bad it would truly get under the Biden and progressive retaliation machine. This was when we first locked in with the Charlie Kirk show and kept up real time updates and analysis where Arizona and a number of other states became central. I never want to go back to this feeling. Never. Charlie was adamant that we do everything we could possibly do to fix this in 2024. We DID IT and we must continue for 2026 and 2028 to have a shot at saving this country.

As a graphics engine coder I think when you look at a flickering bug like this one in the video below it’s not immediately obvious what is going on. The key here is observation - to study this flickering/bugged render carefully - what do we see? Firstly for me it was very obvious that nearly all of the scene shadows were flashing on and off - but (but!) there was a secondary issue where some buildings and parts of the sky were also flashing purple. Hmmmm. Interesting. I initially thought then this might be two separate bugs - but because the sky purple element could only based on full screen post fx and not 3D rendering I looked at this first with a few GPU captures to step through all our post processing to find the rendering stage which made these pixels turn purple: When I did this I found the colour 3D texture LUT grading that makes our different biomes have unique colour palettes was going very wrong - colours near 0 or 1 were wrapping and making the purple elements that we see in the said sky and base parts. The only way this could happen was if the texture was corrupt (which it was not) or if the 3D texture sampling was wrapping and not clamped as intended. That was the Eureka moment - because if the post fx had the wrong texture sampler then the disappearing shadows which also require an exact texture sampler for comparing depth might be also wrong because of the same kind of texture sampling issue! So with this idea that the engine was using the wrong texture samplers, but only in very high draw call scenes like the big base here I the looked at some engine limits and found the bug very quickly - a circular dx12 descriptor buffer for samplers running out over multiple frames, reusing the wrong data for new scenes inflight. Hence the flickering, as the GPU randomly got wrong samplers for some post textures or shadow depth. Easy to fix with triple limits for future expansion and also adding an assert/debug spam in case this limit is ever reached again - QA testers would see this message and report if they ever saw a flicker with this style of bug. My bug and my bad from 2017 porting NMS to DX12 without foreseeing how massively complex bases and our game would grow.

We had this long-standing papercut at Linear where the menu items overflow their outer container. It was hard to fix, or so I thought, because the structure is pretty complicated given all the design details, so a simple overflow: hidden wouldn’t work as it would break the animation. But today I had an epiphany that we could just use a simple CSS mask and fade the items out. Here’s a before & after with a zoom on the problem, look at the left edge:

Nori & Kenji's Reunion! 🍣 At the start of the NanoNoodles Season, we learned that Nori had left home after being embarrassed about accidentally destroying the Sushi Restaurant while trying to defend it from the Robots 🤖. He later went to the NanoNoodles Shop to eat, but ended up getting stuck there, where the NanoNoodles corrupted his mind and transformed him into Nano Nori, turning him evil. 😈 Today, a new Skin section opened in the Windstock Event tab, and it shows Nori and Kenji finally reuniting! ❤️ This most likely means their story is not over yet. We could learn more during the upcoming Community Event next week, or maybe even get a new animation very soon! 🎬 What do you think happens next? 🤔

My philosophy when working with HS kids who are very strong. 445x3. Our dude Blaze Waters (HS sophomore) will get stronger over the next 2+ years just by getting older and training more. It’s my/our job to make sure he’s also producing force at a high rate and to not just go for maxes. Health drives performance. Once we get in the 500 range, we really won’t focus on more weight. My philosophy when working with HS kids who are very strong. 445x3. Our dude Blaze Waters (HS sophomore) will get stronger over the next 2+ years just by getting older and training more. It’s my/our job to make sure he’s also producing force at a high rate and to not just go for maxes. Health drives performance. Once we get in the 500 range, we really won’t focus on more weight.
