Most AI discussions ignore the physical reality: a lot of facilities still can’t support liquid cooling. At NVIDIA GTC, Lenovo’s Jon Alexander explained that across 4,400 global locations, many sites still aren’t ready for liquid cooling. Some environments support megawatts of power, others are limited to air cooling in last-mile telco facilities. That reality is shaping how AI infrastructure actually gets deployed. At the same time, AI is moving so fast that supply chain and time-to-market are becoming competitive advantages. The companies that can build, ship, and deploy infrastructure quickly are the ones that will keep up with demand.

Before we even bought the property, we had to spend a lot of money to understand what we could do with the property. We hired local architects, talked to a bunch of general contractors who had built hotels, talked to a local land use attorney, and surveyors and engineers. This project was daunting before we even started. But what we learned from all of our local specialists is as long as we followed the guidelines of the town, we would be able to build what we wanted. So we decided to make the jump. Below are some of the original renderings of the property as well as a video of the original property. If you look at these you'll see what we saw in the property and what we were hoping to achieve with the construction. I actually think that real-life product, now that it's finished, ended up a little better than this:

China offers open weights, local deployment, lower costs, and greater technological autonomy—and this is called “authoritarian influence.” American corporations keep the models closed, control the infrastructure, set the prices, rewrite the rules, and can revoke access at any time—and this is marketed as “democratic AI.” In this new theology, openness becomes authoritarianism, while corporate monopoly becomes freedom. The argument is no longer about what the technology does. It is about who is permitted to define the rules. “Democratic AI” apparently means intelligence owned by American companies. “Authoritarian AI” means intelligence the rest of the world can actually possess.

Mo Gawdat believes up to 30% of jobs in certain sectors could disappear by 2028. That stopped me in my tracks. Mo was one of the first people to come on this podcast and warn me about AI, long before most of the world was talking about it. At the time, it felt early. Now, it feels like the world is catching up to what he was seeing. I’m still trying to understand what AI actually means for our lives. Not just whether it can write emails, create images or make us more productive. I mean what it does to jobs. What it does to power. What it does to education. What it does to human connection… That’s why I wanted to have this discussion with Mo again. What makes Mo worth listening to is that he saw these systems inside Google years before most of us had even heard the term AI. His book *Scary Smart* now feels like it was written for this exact moment. Let me explain why this discussion matters. Mo believes we’re not just entering an AI revolution. This is how computers are going to work in the future. This is Agentic AI. For two years, we've been building toward this, and now it has arrived. Therefore, all the software companies are going to go out of business.” This is exactly the opposite. Windows ✨Co-Pilot This is the biggest thing in AI this year. All windows machines will have an AI agent at the OS level. It's native. Omni-present. All of a sudden everything on your local device gets accessible by the AI agent. This is clearly a paradigm shift. Time to buckle up. The barrier to entry and universal access to an AI language model just got a lot lower. This is about Microsoft and their ability to simply power ahead, hats off to the entire team and leadership. Great work. PS. Apple needs to play catch up now. Can't wait to see what they have been cooking up. Let's see what they share at WWDC in 2 weeks.
