Yoga and improved skin health and hair growth? India’s pseudoscience poster boy, Ranveer, aka Beerbiceps gets it embarrassingly wrong. Let us break it down. I am sorry this is lengthy, because – as per Brandolini's Law (aka the Bullshit Asymmetry Principle): It takes a lot more energy to refute bullshit than to produce it. Check out this video. In it, Ranveer “pseudoscience peddler” Allahbadia with over 8 million followers on YouTube and Instagram bullshits everyone in just 35 seconds. He showcases some major female movie celebrities and tells the viewers that the secret to their skin and hair is that they perform Yoga every day, especially a Yoga pose called the “Sarvangasana” or shoulder-stand or candle pose. His “scientific” explanation? The stance increases blood flow the scalp and head, and improves skin health and hair growth. This is utter nonsense. What happens to the blood flow, heart, head, and brain region when someone takes an upside-down stance? For that, you must know the meaning of one word – Homeostasis. Homeostasis is a self-regulating process by which human body maintains internal stability in its organ functions while adjusting to changing external conditions. This is also consists of “autoregulation,” the method by which an organ or tissue maintains blood flow despite a change in perfusion due to external (eg: body position changes) or internal (block in blood vessels) conditions. For example, we are normally supposed to walk on two legs or rest by sitting down or lying down. The heart rate, blood flow to all organs including scalp and brain is all maintained depending on the importance and metabolic activity of that organ. For example, at rest, highest proportion of blood flow is received by the liver (nearly 25% of cardiac output) which is 100ml/min per 100g liver weight. The brain receives 50ml/min per 100g weight, while the skin receives 1 to 3ml per 100g per minute. The blood flow is set in the body for proper functioning of organs and every time we try to change that flow, a healthy body will re-align that flow depending on the importance of the organ systems functions. So, when you do a shoulder stand or candle pose, the initial sudden change to the body position will be caught by the receptors in the blood vessels and heart which will re-align the flow to organs of importance, thereby maintaining critical functions that are required for health. Which means, the blood flow to the skin including the scalp, will be re-aligned to its required flow and DOES NOT increase to face and scalp or brain as India’s pseudoscience peddler mentions. In heavy aerobic exercise and changes to temperature related sweating or certain disease conditions, the skin blood can increase. Yoga is not a proper exercise as it is not an aerobic activity. Now Sarvangasana and blood flow – a study showed that heart and blood flow responses were NOT AFFECTED with this pose in healthy people. Even a complete head stand, called Sirsasana does not increase blood flow to the brain, forget the scalp skin, because of blood delivery homeostasis due to autoregulatory mechanisms. The claims for effects of Yoga on specific organs are complete bluff – a public duping started by B K S Iyengar who took Yoga to the international stage. Even in his authoritative books, he does not mention shoulder stand or candle pose to be useful for hair growth. In fact, he [nonsensically] mentions that shoulder stand will improve “thyroid health” (it does not), controls asthma (it does not), reduces disease of the throat (it does not) and prevents common cold (it does not, because common cold is caused by a virus, and not dependent on whether you stand, sit, lie down, and hang yourself upside down). Also, note that Sarvangasana (shoulder stand), Sirsasana (head stand) and Padmasana (lotus position) are the most common Yoga poses reported to cause an injury. In those with high blood pressure or heart disease, these poses may become life threatening. 📢📢 𝐀𝐯𝐚𝐭𝟑𝐫 📢📢 Avat3r creates high-quality 3D head avatars from just a few input images in a single forward pass with a new dynamic 3DGS reconstruction model. Video: Project: Our core idea is to make Gaussian Reconstruction Models animatable. We find that a simple cross-attention to an expression code sequence is already sufficient to model complex facial expressions. We then incorporate position maps from DUSt3R and feature maps from Sapiens to facilitate the prediction task. While DUSt3R's position maps act as a pixel-aligned initialization for the Gaussians' positions, the Sapiens feature maps help the cross-view transformer to match corresponding image tokens in the 4 input images. One major challenge in creating a 3D head avatar from smartphone images comes from inconsistent facial expressions when the subject could not remain perfectly static during the capture. We eliminate this static requirement by simply showing our model input images with different facial expressions during training. This technique makes our model robust to inconsistent input images later on. Finally, we show that despite the model has been trained with 4 input images, one can even create a 3D head avatar when only a single image is available. To achieve this, we employ a pre-trained 3D GAN to lift the single image to 3D and then render the 4 input images for our model. This allows us to create 3D head avatars from single images and even highly out-of-distribution examples like AI generated faces, paintings or statues. Today I tried VR sim racing for the first time and it completely blew my mind 🔥 After just a few minutes I basically disappeared from my studio and got fully immersed in racing. VR lets you visually sit inside the car, and with the wheel and pedals you actually feel like you’re driving it. At first you’re mostly learning the car and the track. Remembering where to brake, where you can push the speed, how the corners flow. You slowly start to understand the car, feel its limits, and figure out what it’s capable of. That’s so cool. After about 2 hours things slowly started to come together. That feeling when you nail a corner is incredibly satisfying. And when you hit 300 km/h in an F1 car, it looks and feels insane. Honestly this was one of the coolest tech experiences I’ve had in a long time. VR + sim racing hardware is on another level. If you’re into cars, gaming, or VR, I highly recommend trying it at least once.

He would play her scenes in class and analyze her technique in front of everyone. currently experimenting with WAN 2.6 I2V on GMI Cloud in this test, I’m comparing two audio workflows and honestly both perform really well. one scene uses audio generated directly from the prompt, while the other uses manually uploaded audio taken from the film 300. visually, both deliver strong motion and solid performance. however, the version with audio coming straight from the prompt feels slightly more refined, camera movement is smoother, transitions flow more naturally and the sync between voice, facial motion, and pacing feels more cohesive. lip sync, especially for Chinese dialogue also comes across a bit cleaner. you can choose single shot for a clean, focused moment or multi shot if you want more cinematic transitions, even when working from just one reference image. one important note: always turn on prompt extension. it makes a noticeable difference in how well the model understands motion, transitions and overall scene flow. both audio approaches are totally usable, but if you’re building dialogue driven or cinematic scenes, starting with audio from the prompt gives WAN 2.6 a bit more context to work with. Part of our quest with Giiift is to make the internet fun again and actually make it easy and engaging to send digital assets between people. One of my recent brainwaves on AI was how it's now possible to create and build one to one experiences on the internet rather than the one to many model that we have had to use purely from a time and cost perspective with development, this is only feasible within the last six months and it's completely open territory. If you think of a fortnite skin for example, that's a one to many experience, where one skin is owned and purchased by many people, makes sense of course as creating individual experiences solely meant for one or a few people would have been incredibly costly for businesses, but that's simply not the case anymore. That's the thesis with Giiift, it firstly packages what onchain tech does best, provide the rails for sending assets from A to B in the most efficient manner possible, but secondly and most importantly it puts the end user experience first in a way that's very reminicent of the old school internet and I think this allows for an unprecedented level of virability in growing the userbase. All a trojan horse for getting onchain wallets and assets into the hands of everyday people around the world, powered by Prism and perfectly suits as retail assets come onchain through Agent to Agent commerce (more on this soon). 🌊 GTA 6 will take liquid simulation to a whole new level. Rockstar is reportedly using fully dynamic fluid physics, calculated in real time — not just animations or pre-baked effects like in most open-world games. That means: • Water will react naturally to wind, waves and storms • Liquids will flow, splash and deform based on collisions • Objects falling into water will displace it physically • Puddles, floods and wet surfaces will evolve dynamically • Drinks, blood, gasoline and more will move like real liquids All of this inside a massive, open, living world. 🤯🔥 This tech could drastically change gameplay in a tropical map like Miami / Vice City — storms, hurricanes, beaches, boats… everything becomes more immersive and unpredictable.
