We ran a 3rd/4th grade fast break league. A continuous 4v3 and 3v2 game with restrictions. 4 10 min quarters, no reaching, no guarding past 3 point line. Limited stoppages. Kids and parents loved it. Definition of DEVELOPMENT. #youthbasketball Transforming Basketball John Carrier

Playing 5 v 5 at this level is constant jump balls, reach in fouls, lack of passing, and ultimately ends up with 1-2 players that can get to their strong hand individually or with ball screen. This game is FUN! No stoppages. We blast music, and let the kids play.

I have to give credit where credit is due. Long time, now retired legend Jeff Boos, Sun Prairie, WI.

The response has been wild! Shows me how much there is a hunger to make youth basketball better. Here is a google drive link to the full hour I recorded with our hudl camera. Please share or DM if want more details. @JohnCarrier42 @transformbball

@transformbball @JohnCarrier42 So one team always plays with 3 players and the other team is playing 50% with 4 and 50% with 2 players from what I can tell. Do you flip that every quarter or am I missing something? Looks interesting! Advantage basketball always better for young kids!

@transformbball @JohnCarrier42 Switch every quarter yes. Just attached rules. They play defense, then go down on advantage offense, and then run back off to the side to their end and repeat. Ideally 8-12 players per team.

@transformbball @JohnCarrier42 Only issue I see is using 10 foot rims.

@transformbball @JohnCarrier42 Our main court hoops don’t lower. The other courts we can lower to 8feet

@transformbball @JohnCarrier42 I recently got access to a 2 court gym for the upcoming summer to have a young kid summer league. We are doing this instead

@transformbball @JohnCarrier42 Well done Coach! Love this!
