As amazing and emotional as their final confrontation was in the series finale, Obi-Wan and Darth Vader’s first lightsaber duel in the Kenobi series is seriously so overlooked. Honestly was terrifying watching a rusty and unfocused Obi-Wan face off once again against Darth Vader, this time fueled even more by personal anger and an intense hatred. Genuinely still remains one of the scariest moments to happen in any Star Wars project.

Despite being one of the most iconic and intimidating villains in cinematic history, seeing Vader mercilessly take out someone without even igniting his lightsaber is easily one of the darkest moments I’ve ever seen in a Star Wars project. We’d never seen this character quite this angry before, and this scene is as chilling to watch as it is just outright horrifying.

This is not talked about enough. The fact that Kanan bested Maul even after being freshly blinded is insane! Not to mention the line "You had your chance." Followed by stopping Maul's punch with his hand and throwing him off the ledge. Kanan was such a peak Jedi.

Saying "Luke's attachment to Vader saved the galaxy" is wrong. Luke did not show attachment, only compassion and selflessness. He was intent on redeeming his father, but he was also ready to accept Vader's refusal and his own death. He had no attachment to Vader, only compassion for him. The only attachment Luke showed was to Leia, when Vader threatened her, and that was the moment that he nearly gave into fear and anger. But he was able to pull back and refuse to play Palpatine's games, accepting death as a Jedi should. It seems people just misunderstand "attachment" in this context, or what Luke really meant when he said things like "then my father is truly dead," or "soon I'll be dead, and you with me."

Have always really loved this deleted scene from The Phantom Menace where Anakin has a scuffle with Greedo after the podrace. A great reminder that the young boy we meet on Tatooine will eventually give into his anger and frustration to become Darth Vader, as well as Greedo starting trouble will ultimately result in his demise years later. I understand why it ultimately didn't make the final cut, but it's still genuinely some amazing foreshadowing for both of these characters.

The fact that Tony Gilroy even got to write a Vader line feels really special to me and you can tell Tony took it seriously. Tony isn’t a Star Wars fan but he’s a REVERED professional writer and part of that comes from giving audiences incredible moments. Every moment of this scene is absolutely cool as fuck and even people who don’t like Star Wars are going to feel hype about it because it’s also HILARIOUS. Darth Vader is a drama queen. If you really want to get technical about the lore, Anakin stopped emotionally developing at age 22 and it makes Darth Vader hilarious. Every moment of this is what a 22 year old would do if a girl broke his heart. It’s exactly what a badass villain should be — spooky is the most important (which is why there’s SO MUCH spooky imagery and not as much dialogue) but he’s also smart and sometimes even charming. He’s the perfect villain and he needs to be treated with the proper gravitas. Actually — he needs to be treated with MORE gravitas because he’s also a supervillain icon and a true blueprint. As much gravitas as you think he needs, Gilroy gives him just a LITTLE more. Because he’s Darth fucking Vader, baby. This scene alone can make almost anyone enjoy Rogue One because it’s fucking hilarious. Tony Gilroy killed it. 10/10 my second favorite Star Wars moment ever. Incredible respect for an iconic villain.

I know a lot of people have strong feelings on the Sequel Trilogy, but it’s still amazing to me as to just how incredible Kylo Ren’s introduction is at the start of The Force Awakens. Being the first Star Wars movie in a little over decade, it put a lot of pressure on a new antagonist that wasn’t Darth Vader, but in just over a minute, JJ Abrams and Adam Driver made Kylo Ren debatably just as iconic.

This scene from The Clone Wars where Anakin interrogates Poggle The Lesser has always been one of the most unexpectedly disturbing moments in the entire series IMO. Such a dark sequence, and one that It just goes to show that as much as Palpatine further pushed Anakin towards the Dark Side, it wasn't (and never was) 100% his decision to fully make. There was always a piece of Vader inside of Anakin Skywalker, and the brutality here absolutely shows it.
