We shouldn’t be using million dollar missiles to stop $20k kamikaze drones. Frankenburg Technologies is building itself up to deliver 1 million low-cost, effective air defence missiles every year, like this one being tested here. That’s 100 times more than the West’s current missile industry. Right now, countries are... spending between 10 and 100 times more than their attackers to defend against drone and missile threats. That’ll bankrupt even the strongest economies. So, at Frankenburg, our mission is not to be the next generation prime defence contractor. We just want to be the globally leading missile company. We have one job and we want to do it exceptionally well. Frankenburg is doing that in partnerships with BAE Systems, Babcock International, Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa🇵🇱, and Airbus Defence Airbus Space. More will be revealed soon. I do not think defence is a winner-takes-all market. We win through collaboration and, here in Europe, our strength is in our diversity of countries and competencies. In more than eleven years of Russia’s war against Ukraine, they have brought only one new thing to our land, the most widespread Russian “legacy”, ruins and death. We must continue resisting this. I appeal to my colleagues, the Speakers of the Parliaments of the countries that support Ukraine in our fight against the russian aggressor. Today I am in Kharkiv. This is one of the biggest cities in Ukraine. And you see behind me the result of the morning's russian attack on civilians. I want each of you to see these photos and understand that russia is a terrorist state. We need more air defence systems, anti-missile systems, artillery and ammunition. We need them as soon as possible. Ukraine is fighting for our freedom and yours. Make a decision. #StandWithUkraine

Today, the Air Force is much more than just one branch of the military. It is a component of our defense that, in many ways, truly shapes the course of this war. Ukrainians did not surrender – and will not surrender – their skies to Russia. That is one of our nation's greatest achievements throughout this full-scale war. We did not allow our Air Force to be destroyed, and have built it up to the point where Russia regularly loses its aircraft. And now, when the only thing – the last thing – Putin has left to bet on is his massive attacks against Ukraine, the Air Force, our combat aviation, is destroying Russian cruise missiles and trying to destroy ballistic missiles as well. And when our Patriot batteries aren't empty, it succeeds. It is important that, thanks to our cooperation with Europe, our IRIS-T, Hawk, and NASAMS systems are operating. Every day, we fight to secure missile supplies for them. And I am grateful that our partners around the world are helping us with that. Of course, ballistic missiles remain a challenge. But we have provided Ukraine with protection against a significant share of cruise missiles, and we are shooting down a great many. Our interception rate against attack drones is also above 90%, and that is a truly significant achievement for Ukraine – for all of us, for every one of you. I thank all of you – all those gathered here today, every man and woman defending Ukraine's skies – who, despite fighting what is, in reality, an unequal battle and lacking sufficient means to bring down enemy targets, accomplish the incredible, go beyond the maximum. In Europe, we must produce all levels of air defense – against drones and all types of missiles, including ballistic. Our seas must be secure, and our forces in other seas must be protected from all threats. Europe not only has this potential – it also has a mission: to protect not only itself, but what it believes in. We believe in people, in their rights and freedom. We believe in culture. And we want nations to live in real peace, strong peace, and communities in respect. Together, Europe is a global force – one the world cannot do without, and that no one can stand against. Europe must finally equip itself with real strength, real ability to defend its skies, its land, and its sea against any type of attack. In particular, this means building sufficient air defense production capacity — both against drones and against ballistic missiles. The situation in the Middle East shows how difficult it is to provide one hundred percent protection against missiles and “shahed” drones. Even in the Gulf countries, which have more advanced air defense systems than those provided to us so far by our partners and have them in larger quantities, not all ballistic missiles are intercepted. There were also “shaheds” that air defense in the region has not stopped. Everyone can now see that Ukraine’s experience in defense is, in many respects, irreplaceable. We are ready to share this experience and help those nations that helped Ukraine this winter and throughout this war. We are ready to work on developing Europe’s shared defensive capabilities. This week alone, Russia has launched nearly 1,220 aerial bombs, over 850 attack drones, and more than 40 missiles of various types against our people. Ukraine is defending itself – we stand and fight thanks to the bravery of our warriors and the support of our partners. But we need more air defense systems to protect Ukrainians’ lives. Europe and the world must be better protected from such evil and prepared to confront it. This requires a strong, united foreign policy and pressure on Putin, who started this war and is now expanding it globally. Together with Europe, the U.S., and all our partners, we can end this war with a just and lasting peace.

The strike may take place today – we have preliminary information that it could happen within the next 48 hours. Please take care of yourselves and pay attention to air raid alerts. We do expect understanding from our partners – air defense is the first priority where partners can help us. And it is important that more and more is becoming known in our key partner countries about what is really happening in Ukraine, about Russia’s attacks against our people, and about Russia’s efforts to prolong this war. We work very closely with the American defense industry, and we want to continue doing so. There are systems that we simply do not yet have—or do not possess in sufficient capability—that we urgently need over the next five to ten years.
