Last night, the Russian army “defeated” yet another hospital – in Kyiv, with a functioning inpatient unit. Patients had to be evacuated. There are casualties. Sadly, one person has been killed. My condolences to the family and loved ones. Everyone who needs assistance is receiving help. Of course, Ukrainians will restore this hospital. That is the kind of people we are – Ukrainians always rebuild what has been destroyed. Likewise, repair crews, energy specialists, and all essential services are working in the regions where the Russians have caused new damage and new power outages. Overnight, 165 attack drones were launched, around 100 of them “shaheds.” And it is crucial that our partners never forget: air defense is needed every day; funding for the production of interceptor drones is needed every day; equipment for the energy sector is needed every day. This week, we will be working with our European and American partners to ensure that Ukraine has the assistance it needs. I am grateful to everyone who supports our state and our people.

Today, we received the awaited decision on the US aid package that we long fought for. And a very significant one. Our warriors on the front lines, as well as our cities and villages suffering from Russian terror, will feel it. The U.S. House of Representatives voted on it today. I thank everyone who supported our package, this is a solution for protecting life. I personally thank Speaker Mike Johnson and all American hearts who believe, as we do in Ukraine, that Russian evil must not be winning. I am hopeful that the bill will be quite quickly passed by the United States Senate and sent to President Biden. We appreciate every sign of support for our country and its independence, people, and way of life, which Russia is attempting to bury under the rubble. America has demonstrated its leadership since the first days of this war. Exactly this type of leadership is required to maintain a rules-based international order and predictability for all nations. We will undoubtedly use American assistance to strengthen both of our nations and bring a just end to this war closer, the war that Putin must lose. I thank our entire Ukrainian team and everyone who works tirelessly to bring this outcome closer. I am grateful to all of our country's representatives, diplomats working to strengthen support for Ukraine, all civil society members, every volunteer who works for Ukraine, and all of Ukraine’s friends around the world. We continue to work actively to put all of our agreements with partners on new arms production into action, including co-production and joint maintenance capabilities. The goal is to strengthen Ukraine to the maximum and add to our defense every month. This week has proved the effectiveness of the air defense systems provided by partners. We are working to bolster our air defense and have already made agreements. This topic is being discussed at every meeting with partners. There will be more systems and more protection. We are also planning more important foreign contacts until the end of the year. Despite the fact that the holiday season reduces political activity in many countries, our whole foreign policy team is working around the clock. I thank everyone in our state who keeps up with such a fast pace and who never tires of protecting, working, and helping.

I said this while addressing participants of the Civil Society and Expert Day. Thanks to our Bring Kids Back UA initiative, we have secured 2,126 returns, and we will continue this work. We have engaged strong international mediators to help bring the children home. I am grateful to every country that has joined our Coalition for the Return of Children. I want to thank every leader of the countries contributing to the effort, and every First Lady of countries that care and are concerned about the fate of abducted children. I thank our Bring Kids Back team. I am grateful to all diplomats, international organizations, and journalists who maintain focus on the rescue of children.
