There were a lot of people at the UKIP religious rally in Liverpool yesterday claiming they were there to 'document the day', but it was clear that some were aligned with far-right narratives around migration, Islam and asylum seekers. I spoke to one person, Cozzy, who had travelled from Manchester to 'document' the event. When I mentioned that Jesus was a refugee, he didn’t seem to appreciate it and accused me of trying to “trap” him in the conversation. No trap. Told my cohort tutoke tu, took them to a nearby mall to see and have chipo we go back to Soweto.
