The law is saying register the car as a commercial car! Why’d you register a car as a private car and be using it for commercial purposes? Why’re these people too illiterate like this?

From like 2001 to like 2005, almost every accident involved a Ford Mini Bus. 2006 to 2009 it was always Sprinter buses, about 8 years ago it was the 2M Express and Stanbic type of buses. The excuse is the right hand drive thing bt they didn't ban Belta and others. It's even funny

Growing up we saw 207,sprinters getting accident on the daily basis but why didn’t they ban those cars? A driver will go drink, smoke den come drive. Some drivers even go clubbing and leave club around 4am and start driving. We should address the main issue and leave the cars

Oh African man 🤦‍♂️ We have to get to the point where we don’t let our love for the money being made in a specific way that causes harm, overide our common sense

@AlexAmissa46506 False comparison. Two wrongs don’t cancel each other, road safety and galamsey are both serious issues. Banning risky use of Voxys is about protecting lives, not ignoring other problems.

What he's essentially saying is that though the vehicle is causing harm, galamsey causes a greater harm, so we should rather focus on that. What about debunking the fact that these buses are killing people? So in this country we should always choose the less evil? Hmmm

That’s a wrong way to compare. I would implore the government to probably let the use it for intra city transportation. Like from Weija or Madina to Accra Central and rather ban them from long distance travels so all parties can be satisfied to a point while still upholding safety

This issue is complicated ... they should sit down with the drivers and give them new directives. Banning the cars permanently isn't the right solution

He has some valid points there, the focus should shift toward stricter enforcement of speed limits and comprehensive driver education. Banning Voxy alone is a reactive move that ignores the root cause driving behavior and lack of regulation

What needs to be done is to find the issue in the car find the best possible solution as to why it’s involved in so much accident before it hits the road

The ban doesn't make sense, cuz between Sprinter and Voxy..Voxy is way more of a commercial car than sprinter and most of our transports vehicles in the system, mind you Most cars comes in as container after being shaped into commercial vans.Voxy is not the problem, but drivers.

Is high time they fixed speed cameras on the roads, we don’t have the technology in checking all this vehicles. banning the vehicles won’t change road accidents. The vehicles is not self drive. Is human that is controlling the wheel. Many of this drivers has zero knowledge about road safety and roadsigns, people got their license with zero theory test and practical test .

Ghana and misplaced priorities, rusted cars with no break lights still walk on our road, Charlie employee people who have minds to work, this whole Voxy thing is rubbish, some drivers just over force the car… lets stop this whole hypocrisy thing

The issue isn’t about speeding. Manufacturers of this car confirmed that it doesn’t produce left hand versions of this particular model. Converting from right to left isn’t safe. I just hope the drivers would come to understand these decisions are for safety reasons

if we’re doing this right then i think toyota voxies seen around today must be around to use the roads while admonishing the drivers to take precautions and avoid over-speeding. and if we don’t need more of such says the transport ministry, they ban importation.

#WATCH | Delhi CM Rekha Gupta says, "This is truly a historic day. Delhi EV Policy, which we aim to implement starting July 1, 2026. Following the LG's approval, the policy will remain in effect until March 31, 2030. It focuses entirely on electric vehicles—specifically zero-emission vehicles—with the ultimate goal of gradually transforming Delhi into a pollution-free city for the benefit of its residents. We have devised a comprehensive plan to execute this in phases over the next four years. I would like to highlight that the policy entails an expenditure of ₹7,000 crore over these four years alone. Additionally, we are investing ₹8,000 crore in creating EV infrastructure and waiving road taxes year-on-year; in total, we estimate that the people of Delhi will receive benefits worth approximately ₹15,000 crore through this policy. The measures include purchase incentives, scrapping incentives, the creation of charging infrastructure, and exemptions on road tax and registration fees. This scheme will be highly beneficial for the general public, as we have endeavoured to bridge the price gap between electric vehicles and conventional vehicles through these subsidies. I believe Delhi is the only state in the country launching such a massive EV policy framework; it not only involves an outlay of ₹15,000 crore but also adopts an uncapped, phased approach regarding vehicle numbers—meaning we will incentivise and support the adoption of as many vehicles as the public chooses to purchase. We have not imposed any kind of cap over these four years. We have included two-wheelers, three-wheelers, four-wheelers, N1 trucks, and 'Gramin Seva' vehicles in this policy...Following the Cabinet's approval, it will be sent to the Lieutenant Governor today. Once implemented from July 1st, every resident of Delhi will be able to avail the benefits of this policy."
