Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange Patil declared victory on September 2 after the Maharashtra government accepted key demands related to the Maratha reservation issue. Addressing a massive gathering at Mumbai’s Azad Maidan, Jarange said, “We have won". The government has agreed to implement provisions from the historic Hyderabad Gazette, allowing Marathas with Kunbi ancestry to receive caste certificates. Additionally, eligibility for reservation benefits will now extend to relatives (sagesoyre) of Kunbi Marathas, a move seen as a major concession and a historic win for the community 45% of GC population in MH is now added into OBC
