This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan. Through changing times, China-Pakistan friendship has remained as strong as iron, with the two countries often termed as "Iron Brothers", while green cooperation is becoming a new highlight of bilateral ties. Located on the Jhelum River in Pakistan, the 720 MW Karot Hydropower Project, developed by CTG and operated by CSAIL, is known as Pakistan's version of "Three Gorges Project". It is the first major CPEC hydropower project in commercial operation and the first large-scale hydropower investment project under the Belt and Road Initiative. With an average annual output of about 3.206 billion kWh, it can meet the electricity demand of more than five million local people. CSAIL also operates three wind farms in Jhimpir, Sindh, with a combined installed capacity of 148.5 MW. Together, they deliver about 443 GWh of clean electricity every year, enough to meet the power needs of more than 600,000 people. But this partnership is not only about electricity. Beyond power generation, CSAIL has supported biodiversity protection along the Jhelum River, community infrastructure, roads, bridges, water systems, hospitals, schools, scholarships and flood relief. From hydropower to wind power, from energy supply to community support, these projects show how clean energy cooperation can bring long-term value to people, nature and development.

He stations signal officers in the cupola of the Lutheran Seminary to watch the western approaches. He also sends urgent messages to Major General John Reynolds, commander of the I Corps, urging him to bring his infantry forward as quickly as possible. Buford knows his cavalry cannot hold the position alone if the Confederates attack in strength the next morning. Note: The Gettysburg movie had him around the Lutheran Seminary a lot more than he was. He did most of his work from his headquarters at Eagle Hotel.

October 3, 1982 SUMMERALL AND MADDEN CALL DIVISION-III COLLEGE FOOTBALL Wittenberg vs. Baldwin-Wallace During the fall of 1982, in the midst of the NFLPA's 57-day players' strike, CBS needed to get creative with their Sunday afternoon programming. So on October 3, the network sent Pat Summerall and John Madden to Springfield, Ohio to call Division-III Wittenberg's game against their rival Baldwin-Wallace — each school with an enrollment then of about 2,000 students. Three other #NFL on CBS broadcast teams called Division-III games that weekend as well. Both Wittenberg and Baldwin-Wallace, as well as the Ohio Athletic Conference, were paid $10,000 each for the game. The video includes the CBS open and pregame introduction by Pat and John, the first several minutes of the game, as well as some select highlights from this historic CBS broadcast. Certainly a very rare and fascinating broadcast — and I'm sure quite a thrill for those players, coaches, students, and communities.

During World War II, Kurt Student served as the commander of the branch, holding the position due to his status as the second most senior officer in the Luftwaffe. During the German invasion of Crete, Allied forces and Cretan irregulars inflicted heavy losses on the Wehrmacht. In retaliation, Kurt Student ordered reprisals against civilians to deter the Cretan population from resisting German occupation. On June 2, 1941, German paratroopers arrived at the village of Kondomari, rounded up the male villagers, and selected their victims. Between twenty-three and sixty men were executed by a firing squad while the women and children of the village watched, witnessing what came to be known as the Massacre of Kondomari. As further reprisal against the Cretans the next day, the Fallschirmjäger killed 180 inhabitants in the village of Kandanos and razed the village to the ground.

Phase II/CP30/TU-01/ – TBM Kolli (S 81) Breakthrough at Otteri shaft Chennai Metro Rail Limited has commenced the expansion of the Chennai city’s metro rail network as part of Phase II after the successful completion of the Phase I and Phase I Extension. CMRL has ventured into an extensive infrastructure development in the city comprising of three more corridors of metro rail for a total length of 116.1 km. Corridor 3 comprising a total alignment length of 45.4 km from MadhavaramMilk colony to Siruseri Sipcot will be spanning across the north to south direction of the Chennai city and has a total of 28 underground stations and 19 elevated stations. Corridor 4 is an east west alignment for a length of 26.1 km connecting the beach front from Light House station to the Depot at Poonamallee has 9 underground stations and 18 elevated stations. Corridor 5 also begins at Madhavaram Milk colony and connects through Koyambedu, Porur, Alandur and other residential/commercial development of the city to Shollinganallur for a total length of 44.6 km with 6 underground stations and 39 elevated stations. The tunnel construction for the first 9 km underground section of Corridor 3 from Madhavaram Milk Colony to Kellys is being executed through M/s Tata Projects limited and mobilized 7 TBMs for the tunnelling works. The TBM Kolli (S 81) tunnel drive started on 11.07.2023 from AyanavaramStation to Otteri station (Up line), covered a bored tunnel length of 903 m and break-through done at Otteri shaft on 29.08.2024. This is the 6th TBM breakthrough carried out by M/s Tata Projects Limited under TU-01 contract. As a whole, CMRL has completed 7 TBM breakthroughs in phase-2 project. The tunnel section between Ayanavaram and Otteri is the most complex tunnel section under the contract TU-01 with major challenges, such as the TBM S 81 (Kolli) first 500m tunnel drive negotiated with sharp 220m radius curve and the last 200m tunnel drive with 280m radius curves. Also, this tunnel drive completed with major challenges such as passing through densely populated areas and addressing more than 100 No. of bore wells along the alignment by providing alternate sources without any issue to the public. One of the patients that The Sameer Project had supported continuously was little Saadallah who sadly passed away last December from malnourishment. Eight months later, and in more dire times, his only brother is also malnourished. These giant structures dotting the Central Valley are adjacent to impoverished communities and will not be placed into service for at least ten years, if ever. Delayed by construction traffic controls, local residents have a front row seat as they watch California’s misguided, High Speed Rail (HSR) project kick up dust and spend $ billions 💰 and $ billions 💰 of taxpayer dollars on unused overpasses that cross above roads, canals, rivers, and railways as Central Valley farming communities are divided by the fenced off HSR route. This particular structure crosses the in-service Amtrak line just south of Wasco. The existing line has been carrying passengers between Bakersfield and Northern California since 1899 when originally placed into service by Sante Fe Railroad. Today, Amtrak connects Bakersfield to Sacramento on this line. It’s a three hour Amtrak ride from Bakersfield to Merced including stops in Wasco and Hanford. HSR will not stop in Wasco. However, Wasco Amtrak passengers now have to walk through an underground walkway below the new, unused HSR structure in Wasco to get from the parking lot to the shiny, new replacement Amtrak platform. The Wasco Amtrak platform was working fine but was newly constructed as a part of the HSR project. Since the Amtrak line and the HSR are nearly parallel at this location, the overpass shown in the video had to be enormous. How many $ billions 💰 of taxpayer dollars will be spent to transport people between Bakersfield and Merced a little bit faster than Amtrak’s current three hour service? There’s no justification for spending so much money for so little benefit, that might occur ten years from now, or more.
