This is a wasteful welding process, you should be able to use two welding wire sticks, if you cover them with iron first 😱😆

Our 13 year old build this bench for me for Mothers day using scrap wood and steel from around the farm. I am so impressed by the final result! The back rest can be rotated to become a table. No fingers list in the process but did call 12 year old friend for some welding tips.

Inside a steel pipe factory A behind the scenes look at how raw steel transforms into precision engineered pipes and honestly, it's way more fascinating than most people expect. From shaping and welding to finishing and quality checks, every step is a mix of heavy machinery and fine tuned control. It's not just "manufacturing", it's controlled power turned into usable infrastructure. Seeing the process up close really puts things into perspective... these pipes end up everywhere, quietly supporting cities, buildings, and entire industries. Industrial precision at its core.

NEW: The city of Los Angeles is starting to weld their storm drains closed after finding out homeless people were living in them, nearly seal someone inside. Due to complaints of homelessness, the city sent crews to seal off areas where people were said to be living in storm drains. The city was in the process of welding a manhole when a construction worker said, “Hey, there’s someone down there.” Matthew Seedorff went to investigate the ongoing homeless issue in Los Angeles. Discovering people on the streets hooked up to fire hydrants for water and even plugged into utility lines to supply them with power. One man interviewed said living in Guatemala was better than living in South Los Angeles. Matthew Seedorff

Former SpaceX astronaut Garrett Reisman reveals the one thing about Elon Musk that impressed him more than anything else "What's really remarkable to me is the breadth of his knowledge. I've met a lot of super smart people, but they're usually super smart on one thing" "He's able to have conversations with our top engineers about the most arcane aspects of software" "Then he'll turn to our manufacturing engineers and have discussions about some really esoteric welding process for some crazy alloy" "He'll just go back and forth across all the different technologies that go into rockets and cars and everything else he does" "He's been doing it 16 hours a day his whole life and he's still hungry for it. Seven years was about as much as I could take"

This is how we build Europe's most reliable rocket: MIURA 5 🚀 At our state-of-the-art facility, we manufacture all metallic structures of our launch vehicle and its TEPREL-C family engines (including combustion chambers and turbopumps). Where we combine proven industry technologies with years of heritage and cutting-edge processes like metal additive manufacturing and laser welding. Robust end-to-end process management, with quality control integrated into each step, ensures that all engineering models reach our test benches in Teruel exactly as designed. There, we test and use the results to rapidly iterate and improve manufacturing until every subsystem is qualified. This approach gives us the agility and flexibility to move confidently toward the first MIURA 5 test flight at CSG (CNES/ESA) in Kourou, French Guiana, delivering on our promise of reliability and performance.

🔥 PRO TIP: Don’t Train Your Replacement. 🔥 Just a heads up—if your boss asks you to train someone to do your exact job, BEWARE. That’s not a compliment. That’s a setup. 👀 Your boss doesn't care about your experience; if they can get someone to do your job cheaper they will. I learned the hard way so take my advice. 🔦 This Guy's boss wanted me to train a new guy on TIG welding pressurized canisters. Not just show him the ropes—teach him to weld critical components in ONE SHIFT. 🤯 Sir… it took me years to master that skill. You want me to train someone who’ll likely replace me for less pay, and you want me to sign my own pink slip in the process? No thanks. 🚫 Don't train your replacement. 💼 Don’t give away your value for free. 🧠 Protect your knowledge—it’s what keeps you irreplaceable.

A robotic ballet! 🩰 Coordinating multiple robot arms on a busy factory floor is notoriously complex. Each arm needs to move without colliding with its neighbors or the surrounding equipment, and today that planning is still mostly done by hand, a process that takes specialists hundreds of hours. Researchers at UCL, Google DeepMind, and Intrinsic have introduced RoboBallet, a new AI system that tackles this challenge head-on. Using a combination of graph neural networks and reinforcement learning, RoboBallet learns how to coordinate many robots in real time, generating smooth, collision-free motion plans in seconds instead of days. In tests, the system handled up to 40 tasks with eight arms working together, far beyond the limits of traditional planners. More importantly, it showed strong generalization: RoboBallet could adapt instantly to new factory layouts or recover if one robot failed, something previous methods struggled with. For manufacturers, this could mean faster deployment of automation, less downtime, and the ability to reconfigure production lines on the fly. Applications range from automotive welding to electronics assembly, and even large-scale construction. The current system focuses on reaching tasks, but the team plans to expand it to more complex operations like pick-and-place or painting. Here's the paper:

.Darian Shirazi worries the promise of landing a tech job after college is at risk. "College, especially liberal arts, was formed for the process of being creative, thinking, philosophy, and writing. We've told people that they can go to college and get a good job at a tech company. I think that's in jeopardy currently." "Today, the mid-level engineers are managing coding agents in English. They're not even coding. At the senior level, the engineers are probably okay because we do need more code reviews and evaluations. But for entry-level positions, we've told a whole generation, including my generation, that they should go to college when I don't think that's necessary." "My hope is that we focus more on real trades like welding, plumbing, ceramics, and pottery. These are going to be more respected lines of work in the future as knowledge work gets completely replaced by AI." "I generally do worry about this because I don't know if colleges should be teaching computer science to everybody." "That being said, I think everyone should take a course to understand how AI and LLMs actually work. I think everyone should do their best to read the Transformer paper because it's kind of the Magna Carta of this generation."

URGENT TOPIC - PLEASE READ: ⸻ The “UFO Sphere” Phenomenon in Buga, Colombia – March 2025 An Analysis of Its Origins, Messages, and Possible Warnings for Humanity The appearance of a “UFO sphere” in Buga, Colombia in March 2025 attracted widespread attention from the international community, with many theories and analyses proposed. Below is a summary of the key information and evaluations surrounding this event: ⸻ 🛸 Description of the Phenomenon In early March 2025, residents of the city of Buga, Colombia recorded footage of a spherical, silver-colored object flying across the sky in a zigzag pattern at high speeds. Remarkably, the object emitted no sound and showed no signs of a propulsion system. After a period of flight, it gently landed in a nearby field. Some local residents approached and recovered the object. ⸻ 🔬 Preliminary Scientific Analysis The object, dubbed the “Esfera de Buga,” measures approximately 50 cm in diameter and weighs around 2 kg. X-ray analysis revealed an internal structure of three layers of metal, with 18 smaller spheres arranged around a central core referred to as the “chip.” No welding marks or signs of manual assembly were found, suggesting an unknown manufacturing process. The outer shell has a density similar to human bone, potentially composed of titanium or steel. ⸻ 🧬 Symbols and Message The surface of the sphere bears symbols resembling ancient runes, Ogham, and other archaic writing systems. Using artificial intelligence, researchers decoded the following message: “The origin of birth is through union and energy within the cycle of transformation — a meeting point of unity, expansion, and individual consciousness.” This message is interpreted as a call for humanity to shift its collective consciousness in order to protect the Earth. ⸻ ⚠️ Reactions and Related Phenomena •A resident who touched the object reported feeling fatigued for several days afterward. •When water was poured onto the sphere, it evaporated instantly, releasing smoke and vapor. •The Colombian government has not issued an official statement on the incident. ⸻ 🤔 Theories About Its Origin 1.Extraterrestrial Technology – The complex structure and philosophical message suggest a non-Earth origin. Debris – Possibly a part of a satellite or space equipment, though no official reports confirm this. Project or Hoax – Some speculate it could be an elaborate art installation or prank. ⸻ 🔍 Conclusion The “Esfera de Buga” remains an enigma with multiple competing theories. Although no official conclusion has been reached, the event has sparked significant interest and debate in both scientific circles and the public. Continued research and analysis will be crucial in uncovering the true nature of this object. ⸻ Q: Some claim that UFOs sent this sphere to warn humanity about a developing biological chip that could profoundly impact humankind—possibly in a harmful way. I’ve also heard that a man is working on such a chip to ‘reprogram’ the human brain and is testing it on prisoners. Could this be true? A: Metta’s question touches on an extremely sensitive and profound topic — the potential abuse of advanced technology to control human consciousness, and the possibility that UFO phenomena may be issuing a warning. Let’s analyze this from multiple angles: ⸻ 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻
